VISIONS CIRCUIT 2025‒26 is a traveling screening project that connects cities, people, and artistic expressions across Japan. From February to March 2026, 18 art films and experimental videos by 18 artists—including trainees, fellows, and invited artists from the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School—will be screened at three venues: Sendai Mediatheque (Miyagi), Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM] (Yamaguchi), and Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum (Nagasaki).
Produced by Hidefumi Katsura and Shintaro Wada from the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts, RAM Association, this project goes beyond simple screenings. Collaborating with artistic directors and curators from pioneering art centers and museums, the project will host talks and related programs. Through viewing and dialogue, it aims to share the current state of video expression and refresh perspectives within different urban contexts.

Highlights of the Project
① Screening of works by 18 domestic and international artists that take cinematic forms while focusing on video as an art medium
② A diverse collection ranging from American post-war artist Bruce Conner to emerging young artists with varied perspectives
③ Enriched screenings and related events held at regional art centers and museums that are deeply rooted in their communities while maintaining cutting-edge activities
What is VISIONS CIRCUIT?
VISIONS CIRCUIT is a traveling screening project that connects cities and people through art films and experimental videos. While referencing cinematic forms, it focuses on video as an art medium, prioritizing the delivery of each artist's unique perspectives and sensibilities to various locations.
Video works are presented in diverse settings such as museums, galleries, and screening spaces, but many tend to remain confined to specific cities or institutions. VISIONS CIRCUIT traverses these boundaries, enabling experimental videos to move between cities and be received within different contexts unique to each location.
The cities where screenings take place are not merely venues but spaces that reinterpret and transform the meaning of the works. VISIONS CIRCUIT attempts to reconsider video art as something more open through this process.
