The World Spa Awards were established in 2015 to recognize excellence in the international spa and wellness tourism industry. "The Ritual of Osaka," created to commemorate the award, is a 100-minute body conditioning journey. Inside the Spa
The Waldorf Astoria Spa at Waldorf Astoria Osaka is a wellness space on the hotel's 30th floor. In a calm setting where traditional Japanese beauty and contemporary luxury come together, it combines rituals inspired by Japanese culture with advanced wellness.
Treatments begin with a breathing and focus process modeled on the movements of the tea ceremony, quietly settling the mind. Next, the body is carefully balanced through treatments that draw on knowledge of seitai and acupuncture and moxibustion, and the session finishes with a brain detox that gently releases tension in the brain. The approach is designed to regulate the rhythms of the autonomic nervous system, breathing, and metabolism, resetting body and mind from within.
The spa also offers treatments using high-end skincare brands from Japan and overseas, as well as wellness programs that reflect the seasons and culture.
