Weekend Max Mara is rolling out its 2026 fall/winter signature collection, "Into the Forest: A Weekend with Robert Rabensteiner."

The project embodies an "oxymoron" aesthetic that fuses two contrasting worlds: nature and the city, quiet Alpine time and nights coloured by cultural events. The collection was born from a collaboration with stylist and former L'Uomo Vogue editor-at-large Robert Rabensteiner. Known as one of the most influential figures in menswear, Rabensteiner is celebrated for a distinctive style that combines eclectic elegance with relaxed, effortless sophistication.

"Into the Forest: A Weekend with Robert Rabensteiner" is a lifestyle collection carefully curated for women who move lightly between two worlds: the quiet of the mountains and the cultural vibrancy of historic cities. Wrapped in understated elegance rooted in mountain tradition, the collection reflects Rabensteiner's own roots, weaving together a variety of elements in natural harmony. Here, Rabensteiner depicts a woman who is both intelligent and curious, someone who loves nature in many forms, from hiking in the forest to riding a motorcycle or traveling by camper van.

"The first thing that came to mind was a woman hosting friends at a beautifully set table in the forest. That, to me, is the most elegant thing you can do. It blends the masculine and the feminine, adding a modern touch to very classic pieces," says Rabensteiner.

The collection also draws inspiration from the classic elegance and durability of traditional Austrian Alpine coats. It extracts three symbolic elements from these coats — the iconic melange texture, the silhouette seen in cup sleeves and inverted pleats, and a colour palette centred on green — and reinterprets them for today. Rabensteiner layers folklore, workwear, hiking style, and evening glamour to complete his own distinctive world.

Felted wool is the key material. Hand-sewn double wool coats and slim dresses in red and blue are paired with voluminous midi skirts, straight-leg trousers, and full-fledged fisherman's sweaters to complete the looks. The colour palette centres on green, navy, pale blue, and chestnut brown, with accents of red, purple, and curry yellow. Materials include cotton, Irish wool, leather, and luxurious details in velvet and silk. Rather than a simple fusion of styles, this is an intelligent, essential wardrobe that moves seamlessly from introspective time in nature to the cultural excitement of the city. Every piece carries a dual character, and layering them builds an unwavering elegance.

The collection is available at Weekend Max Mara shops nationwide and on the official online store.
