The annual Christmas market Käthe Wohlfahrt (ケーテ・ウォルファルト) also returns, and Christmas cakes and limited-time items go on sale. The theme for Christmas 2026 is Glowing Prelude (グローイング・プレリュード). Midland Square marks its 20th anniversary next year, and this Christmas is the "prelude" to that story.

Each light of the illumination decorating the building stands for the glow Midland Square has spun so far, guiding visitors toward the new future that is about to begin.

Champagne-Gold Illumination Inside the Building

The atrium of the commercial building, from the 1st to the 4th floor, is filled with about 160,000 champagne-gold lights made to order for Midland Square. The display covers a wider area than last year and shines more brightly, giving the building a glittering, jewel-like look and a luxurious Christmas atmosphere.

On Wednesday, November 11, 2026, Louis Poulsen opens on the 3rd floor of Midland Square's commercial building. Louis Poulsen is a Danish lighting brand founded in 1874. The new shop is its third in Japan after Tokyo and Osaka, and its first in the Tokai area.

Limited-Edition PH 2/1 Table Lamp Available for Advance Order

To mark the opening of the Nagoya Store, a limited-edition PH 2/1 Table Lamp is being released. Advance orders will be taken at the Nagoya Store ahead of nationwide sales.

The PH 2/1 Table Lamp is a timeless model that carries on the thinking behind the "three-shade system" devised by Poul Henningsen in 1926. It uses unpainted brass for the stem and hand-blown glass for the shade, which gives off soft light. Visitors can enjoy the comfortable, glare-reduced light as well as the beauty of the brass, whose character deepens over time.
