A range of space-themed activities for children are set to take place at the "Yokohama Tanabata Festival" (横浜七夕まつり), held at Rinko Park (臨港パーク) in Yokohama on July 4 (Saturday) and 5 (Sunday), 2026. The activities are organized as part of Kanagawa Prefecture's 2026 commissioned space event program for children.

Virtual Maker "ルナシティ"
An interactive virtual maker experience called "ルナシティ" will be available for participants.

Explore Space with VR Goggles (VR Goggle Craft)
Participants make their own VR goggles and experience 360-degree space footage using a smartphone. The handmade goggles can be taken home after the activity.

"宇宙なんちゃら こてつくん" Coloring
Children can color illustrations of the popular character "宇宙なんちゃら こてつくん" (Uchu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun). Those who finish their coloring sheet will receive a Kotetsu-kun character gift. The activity is designed to spark curiosity about space in an accessible way.

Kotetsu-kun Character Greeting (Cancelled in rainy weather)
The popular character Kotetsu-kun from "宇宙なんちゃら こてつくん" will appear at the venue. Visitors are welcome to take commemorative photos with the character.
