Lotte Co., Ltd. will hold its first hands-on moon-viewing event, "Yukimi Daifuku Everyone's Moon-Viewing Party," for three days from September 25 (Friday) to September 27 (Sunday), 2026, at Sankaku Hiroba in the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building. Centered on the Yukimi Daifuku ice cream, the event invites visitors to rediscover otsukimi — the Japanese custom of gathering with others to enjoy good food while admiring the moon — through a giant moon-shaped photo spot, a food-truck lineup of otsukimi-themed menus, collaborations with Imuraya and ice cream critic Iceman Fukutome, and hands-on workshops.

A Giant Moon Photo Spot, and a Taste of Autumn-Limited Yukimi Daifuku
At the center of the venue stands a giant "moon" object, offering a fantastical photo spot where visitors can take in the look and taste of Yukimi Daifuku. Food trucks with otsukimi menus, special collaborations with Imuraya and ice cream critic Iceman Fukutome, workshops, and more fill out the lineup of content.
Sampling of "Yukimi Daifuku Autumn-Limited Otsukimi Shitate"
5,000 units of "Yukimi Daifuku Autumn-Limited Otsukimi Shitate," the seasonal item rolling out nationwide in stages from early September, will be handed out inside the event venue.

"my Yukimi Daifuku" Pop-Up From Nakameguro
The café "my Yukimi Daifuku," which has drawn a big response in Nakameguro, opens a three-day-only stand in Shinjuku as well. As at its regular location, visitors can freely choose their toppings and finish, with each treat starting at ¥450 (tax included). The soft, mochi-like ice cream comes in five flavors: iron-pot-roasted black sesame, Belgian chocolate, strawberry with plenty of fruit, candied Italian chestnut (marron glacé), and crisp chocolate chip.

Mochi-Pounding With "Yukimi Daifuku Mai" Rice (Daytime Only)
On September 26 (Saturday) and 27 (Sunday), visitors can join a mochi-pounding experience using "Yukimi Daifuku Mai," the glutinous rice used to make Yukimi Daifuku. One round is planned in each of the daytime sessions (11:00 AM–2:00 PM and 2:30 PM–5:30 PM). For ¥200, participants can join the pounding and separately sample freshly pounded mochi. A special sale of "Yukimi Daifuku Mai" — a blend of glutinous rice from Hokkaido, Iwate, and Miyagi — is also held on-site.

Joining the mochi-pounding experience (with mochi tasting) requires a ¥200 participation ticket sold at the venue, and both the experience and the "Yukimi Daifuku Mai" sale end once the day's allotment runs out.
On the final day, September 27, comedy duo Cool Poco (クールポコ。) joins the mochi-pounding as a special guest, bringing their well-practiced, powerful pounding.
Lantern-Launch Experience (Evening Only)

Guests holding an evening ticket that includes a moon-viewing lantern can take part in an LED lantern-launch experience on all three nights (6:00 PM–9:00 PM). Visitors write a wish on an LED lantern and send it up into the sky all together, filling the venue with a warm, fantastical glow.

Food trucks from popular shops serve special otsukimi-themed menus made only for this event, ranging from photogenic dishes styled after the moon and stars to hearty, savory plates.

Collaboration Area
Imuraya x Yukimi Daifuku: "Yukimi Azuki Zenzai"
At the Imuraya Co., Ltd. booth, the company's boiled azuki beans and Azuki Bar meet Yukimi Daifuku in a dream collaboration. Visitors can enjoy "Yukimi Azuki Zenzai" — a warming dessert made from zenzai using Imuraya's "Yude Azuki," or from an "azuki bar zenzai" made with a microwave-warmed "Azuki Bar," topped with soft, mochi-like mini Yukimi Daifuku.

A free participation ticket for the Imuraya booth is handed out at the venue each day; only ticket holders can sample the menu above and experience the booth. Distribution ends once the day's allotment runs out.
Aipaku TOKYO x Yukimi Daifuku, Produced by Iceman Fukutome
"Aipaku TOKYO," a craft soft-serve shop produced by ice cream critic Iceman Fukutome, who is deeply familiar with ice cream from across Japan, sets up a booth at the venue. Alongside its popular Flower Soft Cream, known for its striking look, the booth offers an event-only treat made with Yukimi Daifuku: "Aipaku Flower Sundae, Otsukimi x Matcha," priced at ¥1,500 (tax included).
