Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo (Bunkyo, Tokyo; General Manager: Tomohiko Chihiro) will present a limited-time autumn garden display in its forest-like grounds, pairing the seasonal favorite "TOKYO MOON" with its evolved garden mist production "Tokyo Sea of Clouds YAKUMO," starting Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Tokyo Sea of Clouds YAKUMO Meets TOKYO MOON: A Fantastical Autumn Night Beneath the Clouds

"TOKYO MOON" is a seasonal garden display that fires mist nozzles used for "Tokyo Sea of Clouds" into the air to create a misty "cloud sea screen" above Yusui Pond in the garden, then projects footage of "the moon over Tokyo," filmed from the hotel's rooftop, onto that screen.
The moon that appears on the cloud sea screen above the pond changes shape with the wind and weather conditions, so no two views are ever quite the same. Last year's display, timed to the 100th anniversary of the three-story pagoda's relocation, portrayed the waxing and waning of the moon.
This year, the dynamic and fantastical "Tokyo Sea of Clouds YAKUMO" joins forces with "TOKYO MOON." The moon rises amid layers upon layers of overlapping clouds, at times enveloped by them, for a fantastical, romantic scene.
The number of water screen nozzles has also been increased, sharpening the resolution of the moon's projected image compared to previous years. Guests can enjoy this year's version of "TOKYO MOON," with a clearer moon set against ever-changing clouds.
See, Savor, and Restore: A Season of "Moon Time" Throughout the Hotel
Alongside moon-viewing in the garden, the hotel is offering a lineup of seasonal experiences for guests to enjoy a leisurely autumn evening indoors as well.
At the sky garden overlooking the forest-like grounds, the hotel will hold "Cloud Yoga: Moon Yoga." In an open-air space where guests can feel the night sky and the moon, the class guides participants through gentle movement and breathing for a relaxing mind-and-body experience — a quiet time to reconnect with oneself, surrounded by the garden's clouds and moonlight.
At the hotel shop "Selections," limited-time autumn sweets made with pumpkin, chestnut, and other seasonal ingredients will also go on sale, including a "Pumpkin Cheesecake" that pairs the sweetness of Hokkaido-grown pumpkin with the tang and richness of cream cheese — a lineup guests can take home to enjoy the tastes of autumn.
At the lobby lounge "Le Jardin," an "Evening High Tea" featuring autumn flavors will also be offered. Served a little later than afternoon tea, this popular, food-forward style lets guests take their time over hors d'oeuvres and desserts made with seasonal ingredients.
From viewing the moon in the garden to savoring the tastes of autumn and restoring mind and body under the moonlight, guests can enjoy the richness of an autumn night from the hotel through to their own home.
