A popular seafood restaurant in Kyoto's Karasuma area, previously known as "Yumedokoro Ryoshi Meshi Zakoya," is reopening in Nakagyo Ward on July 29 under the new name "Zakoya Honten." To celebrate the relaunch, Shizen Shokken Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Bungotakada, Oita Prefecture; represented by Kohei Sasaki) is giving away free samples of its "Shijimi Shukan" supplement, about five days' worth (350 mg × 10 tablets), to the first 100 guests who visit.
The collaboration grew out of a shared wish from both parties to introduce more people to the appeal of fish dishes and Japan's food culture. Alongside a chance to enjoy seasonal seafood, guests will also get to try shijimi (freshwater clam), a traditional Japanese ingredient.

Located in the Karasuma area of Nakagyo Ward, "Zakoya Honten" is known for serving fresh seafood sourced from around Japan, bought each morning at Kyoto's central wholesale market, with the day's recommendations changing daily.
The restaurant has no fixed menu — guests choose their dishes after viewing the actual fish on display, giving the space the lively feel of a harbor-town market. This has made it a favorite among seafood lovers.
It's also used for a range of occasions, from business entertaining and after-work gatherings to drinking parties and girls' nights out, and has built a following as a place to enjoy fish dishes in Kyoto.
With this renewal, the restaurant is being reborn as a more comfortable space for its next chapter.
