On September 5, the Akiyoshidai Tourism Festival Executive Committee (Chairperson: 坂本睦海, Chairman of the Mine City Tourism Association) is holding "The 48th Akiyoshidai Tourism Festival Fireworks Display" atop Akiyoshidai, one of Japan's largest karst plateaus. It's a rare fireworks display staged in the mountains, and on the day, about 1,300 fireworks will color the night sky, their sound echoing across the venue.
In 2025, the event was regrettably canceled after the controlled mountain burning fell short, so this year marks the first time the festival has been held in two years. The Mine Akiyoshidai Geopark, which covers the entire city of Mine, was certified as a UNESCO Global Geopark this past April. Akiyoshidai, the symbol of the Mine Akiyoshidai Geopark, is once again ready to host the fireworks display for everyone to enjoy.
As in 2024, this year's festival will again be held on a paid basis, with visitors covering costs through individual sponsorship (viewing area entry tickets) and parking cooperation fees. Rising prices and material costs in recent years have driven up expenses for the fireworks display — including launch costs, shuttle bus operation, and security — making it increasingly difficult to sustain the event without support. Visitors are asked to understand the circumstances and lend their cooperation.

Advance payment through the reservation site is required. Sales end once the 4,500-ticket cap is reached. If the cap is not reached, same-day tickets may be sold at the venue at the day-of price.
