AYAKO SAKURAI Holds Gallery Event at GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS GINZA ART SQUARE

AYAKO SAKURAI, a jewelry brand by jeweler Ayako Sakurai (based in Bunkyo, Tokyo), will hold a gallery event at GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS GINZA ART SQUARE (6th floor, GINZA SIX) on May 15 (Friday) and May 16 (Saturday), 2026. The event is intended to raise brand awareness and offer visitors a distinctive brand experience.

Event Overview

Unlike a conventional pop-up centered on try-ons and sales, this event treats jewelry as "wearable art," creating an exhibition-style space where visitors can immerse themselves in the brand's world and appreciate the beauty of each piece. The atmosphere is envisioned as elegant and warm — a place where connections between people form naturally and the senses open up. Rather than a floor where products are lined up for selection, the space invites visitors to "see" the works and discover for themselves why they are drawn to them.

At the venue, visitors can explore the world of AYAKO SAKURAI through the jewelry on display, and experience the brand's philosophy and aesthetic sensibility through conversations with staff and the overall ambiance.

The displayed jewelry is principally not available for try-on as it is presented in exhibition format, though pieces worn by the staff may be available for a short try-on. While the event is not set up for visitors to pick up and select items as at a typical pop-up, staff are available to provide guidance and purchase consultations for any pieces of interest.

AYAKO SAKURAI × CENTU JOUR: Jewelry Boxes

The event will also feature an exhibition and sale of jewelry boxes by "CENTU JOUR," a brand known for its tweed-material jewelry boxes. AYAKO SAKURAI and CENTU JOUR have worked together on previous occasions — including at Isetan Shinjuku — owing to the affinity between their respective brand aesthetics. Together, the jewelry and the boxes that hold them offer visitors a richer experience of beauty.

Whether you are a dedicated jewelry lover or someone who has not previously paid much attention to jewelry, the event aims to be a welcoming space where a piece or a photograph might catch your eye and spark a new interest. Rather than a place to buy, visitors are invited to drop by casually and enjoy the encounter with the works and the space.
