Sailing Ship "BLUE OCEAN Miraie" Opens to the Public at Tateyama Port

A rare chance to step aboard a sailing ship is coming to Chiba's Boso Peninsula. On Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (last boarding at 6:30 PM), the training sailing ship BLUE OCEAN Miraie will open to public boarding at Tateyama Port. The ship is operated by the nonprofit organization Zeri Japan.

The ship will be moored at Tateyama's Yuhi Sanbashi (Sunset Pier), a spot recognized as one of Japan's 100 best places to view the sunset. Rather than only viewing the ship from the shore, visitors will be able to actually go on board and look around its interior.

Sailing ships rarely open their decks to the public, making this a good opportunity to get an up-close look at BLUE OCEAN Miraie and experience its appeal firsthand. Original goods that are normally sold online only will also be available for purchase on board (a paid item).
