Special Amaou Strawberries Grown at Uluu Farm in Fukuoka

The strawberries used in the Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin exclusive BUTTER NO ITOKO Amaou Strawberry and Amaou Strawberry Berry Berry Butter Sand are carefully grown by Uluu Farm, a strawberry farm in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. This special collaboration grew out of shared values with the farm, which holds the philosophy of "bringing smiles to the world through strawberries" and continually strives to improve quality.

1. Rarity: Held by Only 1-2% of Growers in the Prefecture - "Specially Cultivated" Certification for Safety

What Uluu Farm values most is delivering strawberries that can be enjoyed safely and deliciously. Among the roughly 1,400 Amaou growers in Fukuoka Prefecture, only an estimated 1-2% hold "Specially Cultivated" certification, which Uluu Farm has obtained. The farm significantly reduces the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, builds soil mainly with organic fertilizer, and uses beneficial insects and bees, practicing agriculture that is gentle on both the environment and people. The strawberries boast such high safety and quality that even small children can eat them straight without washing.

2. Commitment to Flavor: Demanding "Soil Cultivation" Creates a Deep, Concentrated Sweetness

Rather than the efficient raised-bed cultivation (grown at waist height) that has become mainstream in recent years, Uluu Farm deliberately chooses traditional soil cultivation. Although this method requires more demanding, hands-on work such as bending down to tend the plants, Koga explains that the strawberry roots draw nutrients directly and abundantly from the soil, producing strawberries with a concentrated, rich sweetness. The well-balanced combination of deep sweetness, harmonious tartness, and rich aroma continues to attract devoted fans.

3. Freshness Control: "Morning-Picked" Shipping Because Strawberries Don't Ripen Further After Harvest

Strawberries are a fruit that doesn't become sweeter with time after harvest. That's why Uluu Farm practices thorough freshness management, shipping "morning-picked" strawberries the same day to capture their peak flavor. The rich taste from soil cultivation combined with the overwhelming freshness and juiciness of morning-picked strawberries makes it possible to draw out a tartness and sweetness strong enough to stand up to the rich body of the skim milk jam and butter cream.

Bringing out the full appeal of ingredients that producers have carefully grown, and delivering that appeal to more people through confectionery, is also part of GOOD NEWS's ongoing effort to expand the possibilities of regional agriculture and support sustainable production.

HOKKAIDO BROWN CHEESE Crosses the Sea to Kyushu

HOKKAIDO BROWN CHEESE

HOKKAIDO BROWN CHEESE

A New Cycle of Flavor and Story Spanning Japan, Starting from Kyushu

HOKKAIDO BROWN CHEESE is a sweets brand built around brown cheese, made by carefully simmering down whey, a byproduct of turning raw milk into cheese. Sweets made with this brown cheese, which offers a caramel-like richness and a subtle tartness from the whey, have become popular as a Hokkaido souvenir. The brand opened at Daimaru Sapporo in August 2025 and, thanks to the support it received there, is now making its first appearance at Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin. By bringing HOKKAIDO BROWN CHEESE, sweets reborn from the blessings of Hokkaido's land, to Kyushu, the brand hopes to spread a new cycle of flavor and story spanning Japan, starting from the Kyushu area.

About HOKKAIDO BROWN CHEESE

Caramel? Cheese? The star is rich, melting "brown cheese."

Whey simmered down into brown cheese

Whey simmered down into brown cheese

When raw milk is turned into cheese, about 90% of it is released as whey. Brown cheese is born from this whey, a byproduct of the cheesemaking process. By carefully simmering down the whey, it transforms into brown cheese with a caramel-like rich sweetness and depth, along with a subtle sweet-tartness and saltiness.

A New Crisp, Fizzy, and Melting Texture - Premium Sweet SNOWDOME

SNOWDOME is a premium sweet with a new three-texture experience: crisp, fizzy, and melting. Brown cheese, light and airy meringue, and smooth chocolate wrapping around them are entirely different elements that come together as one the moment they're in your mouth. Its charming, round shape that fits neatly in the palm of your hand is a defining feature.

The "Kita no" Series: Tasting Brown Cheese's Appeal Alongside Northern Scenery

The first entry in the series, Kita no Akarenga (Northern Red Brick), was released in 2026 as a sweet that draws out the full appeal of brown cheese. The lineup makes full use of ingredients born in Hokkaido, offering treats that can be enjoyed alongside northern scenery.

Kita no Akarenga - Historic Hokkaido Scenery Captured in a Sweet

Kita no Akarenga

Kita no Akarenga

A moist baked confection with the deep richness of Hokkaido brown cheese and the aroma of butter. Shaped by time and care, its flavor is as rich as caramel, with a lingering sweet-tart aftertaste that feels both nostalgic and new. The strength of Hokkaido's land is captured in "Akarenga" (red brick). Enjoy it as a souvenir that carries travel memories while connecting the north's history to the future.

Product Name: Kita no Akarenga

Price: 1,080 yen (4 pieces)

Kita no Shiroe - Expressing Hokkaido's Land and Mountains

Kita no Shiroe

Kita no Shiroe

Kita no Shiroe is a new-style sweet that expresses Hokkaido's rich nature through a two-layer baumkuchen. Its name carries the meaning of "toward white" or "layers of white," evoking the whiteness of Hokkaido snow. The dough makes the most of brown cheese's rich body and sweetness. The upper layer offers the deep flavor of caramel and cheese, while the lower layer carries the aroma of brown cheese. A sugar coating made to resemble snow adds an accent of sweetness and texture, and the contrasting crisp, crunchy, and fluffy textures make it a fun treat to eat.
