Japanese confectionery brand C³ (Sea Cube) — known for its focus on the three "C"s of Coffee, Cacao, and Cheese — has launched a summer-limited new item: "Baked Tiramisu Sio." Drawing on the widely discussed "salt coffee" trend, the product is now on sale at C³ stores nationwide and the Suzette official online shop, starting April 25, 2026.
A Baked Tiramisu Inspired by the "Salt Coffee" Trend
The practice of adding a pinch of salt to coffee has been gaining popularity across Asia, said to accentuate sweetness and bring depth to the flavor. C³ has translated this concept into their signature baked tiramisu for the summer season.
The coffee used is 100% Ethiopian Mocha beans (1% Ethiopian Mocha coffee in the coffee syrup), prized for their fruity aroma and gentle acidity — delivering a light and refreshing taste suited to the summer heat. A pinch of natural rock salt, rich in mineral-derived umami, is added to draw out the sweetness and enhance the coffee flavor while leaving a clean, refreshing finish. The surface is finished in a pale white tone to evoke a fresh, summery feel.
Chilling the product before eating is also recommended, making it an ideal pairing with iced coffee on hot days.
The packaging design uses light blue to suggest salt and summer, combined with the red, green, and yellow of the Ethiopian flag, for a lively and cheerful look. Triangular and diamond shapes embedded in the design subtly reference salt crystals and mountains of rock salt.

C³'s Signature "Baked Tiramisu" — Triple Award Winner

A beloved staple since C³'s founding, the Baked Tiramisu expresses the classic tiramisu flavor in baked form through an exclusive recipe by a world-class pastry chef (winner of the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2023). The moist cake is infused with coffee flavor and balanced by the rich, slightly bitter character of cheese — making it the brand's defining long-selling product.
The recipe uses domestically produced mascarpone from Hamanaka Town, Hokkaido — the same variety used in the fresh tiramisu — and involves a dedicated machine that slowly soaks coffee sauce into the cake immediately after baking. This combination of premium ingredients and careful craftsmanship has earned the product loyal fans both in Japan and abroad.

Three prestigious recognitions now accompany the Baked Tiramisu:
- Monde Selection: Gold Award for 10 consecutive years (since 2017), along with the Crystal Prestige Trophy (2026) — presented only to companies achieving 10 consecutive gold award wins.
- ITI (International Taste Institute): One Star for 9 consecutive years, awarded by the Belgium-based international tasting organization.
- Rakuten Rankings: Ranked No. 1 by customer votes on the Rakuten marketplace.
"Triple Tiramisu" Wins Japan Food Selection Grand Prix

The "Triple Tiramisu" — an assorted box featuring the signature Baked Tiramisu alongside two seasonal flavors — received the Japan Food Selection Grand Prix in April 2026. Recognized by Japanese food specialists for its ingredient quality, well-balanced flavor, and consistent product standards, it originally debuted as a winter gift-season item.
This summer, the Triple Tiramisu returns as a mid-year (Obon-season) gift set, now pairing the classic Baked Tiramisu with two new summer flavors: Strawberry (with juicy strawberry sauce injected post-baking) and Seto-da Limon (using lemons grown in Setoda on the Seto Inland Sea coast). Together, they form a box of three distinct tastes.
