Calbee, a leading Japanese snack manufacturer, is launching a new product in its "miino" series that combines two types of soybeans. The "miino Daizu ni Ajiwau Mix Yellow Soybean Black Soybean Salt Flavor" will be available at convenience stores nationwide from January 12, 2026.
New Mixed Soybean Snack Debuts
Soybeans are gaining attention as a nutritious ingredient containing protein, dietary fiber, and various other nutrients in a balanced way. As health-conscious consumers increasingly seek soybean-based products, the soybean snack market continues to grow in Japan.
The new "miino Daizu ni Ajiwau Mix" features Hokkaido-produced Yukihomare yellow soybeans and black soybeans, deep-fried whole in their proprietary method. The snack is Locabo Plus certified, making it easy to consume soybean-derived protein and dietary fiber.
The product will first launch at convenience stores on January 12, then become available at other retail locations from January 19, 2026 (limited-time availability, scheduled to end in late May 2026).

Product Features
The new mixed soybean snack combines Hokkaido-produced Yukihomare yellow soybeans and black soybeans, deep-fried whole using Calbee's proprietary method. The result is a crispy and crunchy texture with the natural sweetness and aroma of soybeans, enhanced only with simple salt seasoning. The product is particularly suited for the Setsubun (bean-throwing) season.
The packaging design highlights the two types of soybeans with a two-tone color scheme. The back of the package clearly displays the health benefits of soybeans, including soy isoflavones, protein, and dietary fiber.

About Locabo and Locabo Plus
"Locabo" is a concept that promotes a healthy lifestyle by controlling sugar intake per meal to prevent blood sugar spikes. The certification requires meeting specific criteria for appropriate sugar content. Rather than extreme sugar restriction, Locabo encourages enjoying delicious food while maintaining moderate carbohydrate control.
"Locabo Plus" certification requires meeting not only the sugar content standards but also additional criteria for protein content and other nutritional values. Both "Locabo" and "Locabo Plus" are registered trademarks of the Food for Wellness Association.
Both products are now available in the miino series, offering convenient options for those looking to enjoy the New Year season and Setsubun festivities while maintaining a health-conscious diet.
