Site Features

CAMP SATOMIYA campsite

CAMP SATOMIYA's 18 pitches are divided into two areas along the southern shore of Lake Kawaguchi.

Main site layout – 9 pitches near the reception and shower facilities

The Main Site comprises 9 pitches located close to the reception building and shower facilities. Depending on the season, some of these pitches offer views of Mount Fuji.

Views of Mount Fuji visible from part of the main site

Decks overlooking Lake Kawaguchi on the northern side of the main site

Sub-site layout – 9 pitches lined along the lakeshore

The Sub-Site features 9 pitches arranged along the lakeshore with excellent views of Lake Kawaguchi. Both areas have toilets and water facilities, allowing guests to enjoy the lakeside natural setting to the fullest.

Convenient Access to Sightseeing and Shops

Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine, located directly across from the campsite

CAMP SATOMIYA sits next to Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine—the oldest shrine at the foot of Mount Fuji—and Shikkogo Park, a natural grass venue that serves as the site of the spring horseback archery (yabusame) ceremony. Both can be visited conveniently during a camping stay. The nearest convenience store is a 5-minute walk away, and a supermarket and home center are about a 5-minute drive.

Water Activities on the Lake

Pier available as a launch and landing point for water activities

Launch is also possible from the shallow water area

Being right on the lakeshore, CAMP SATOMIYA welcomes guests who bring their own canoes, kayaks, or SUPs. A pier situated between the main and sub sites serves as a dedicated launch and landing point, and shallow-water launching is also available.

Views of the mountains and townscape on the northern shore from out on the lake

From the lake near the campsite, paddlers can take in panoramic views of the mountains and townscape along the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi. In summer, the contrast between the green peaks and the blue water is particularly vivid. Paddling roughly five minutes westward toward open water reveals Mount Fuji—a view unique to being out on the lake.

Free Canoe and Kayak Rental

Canoe and kayak rack – available for CAMP SATOMIYA guests only

CAMP SATOMIYA provides complimentary canoe and kayak rentals exclusively for guests. Available equipment includes 4 Canadian canoes (load capacity: 240 kg each), 12 single-person kayaks, paddles, oars, and life jackets. Groups can share a Canadian canoe, or multiple guests can each take a kayak out on the lake simultaneously.

Rental is self-service: guests fill in their name (in hiragana), start time, and end time in the reservation log and pledge form, read the safety guidelines carefully, and collect the equipment. Life jackets are also available from the same rack. When other guests are waiting, usage is limited to 30 minutes per turn; if no one is waiting, there is no time limit. Guests must stay within the designated area on the lake and should not go out alone—someone must remain on shore to keep watch. Rental is available throughout the campsite's operating season, through November 23.

Shower Facilities

Outdoor cold-water shower near the reception building

An outdoor cold-water shower is installed near the reception building for rinsing off after water activities. The sanitary building (separate facilities for men and women) also has indoor warm-water showers, so guests can stay comfortable even in cooler months outside of summer.
