Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko Reopens Three Experiential Dome Rooms on June 22

グランピングヴィレッジ富士河口湖 (Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko) in Narusawa Village, Yamanashi is reopening three dome-type rooms as new experiential accommodations on Monday, June 22, 2026. The revamped rooms — the Kids Activity Dome, Nature Adventure Dome, and Forest Bonfire Gastro Dome — each come equipped with private, room-exclusive activities.

Background

With Japan's Meteorological Agency forecasting that "extreme heat days" with temperatures of 40°C or higher will occur across the country in the summer of 2026, demand is growing among families and groups for private, cool, and accessible outdoor leisure alternatives to crowded urban theme parks and beaches. Responding to this shift, Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko has fully renovated three of its dome rooms in time for the summer holiday season to offer what it calls "cool summer glamping" — private activities with no crowds, at an elevation of over 1,000 meters above sea level.

The Three New Dome Room Types

Kids Activity Dome

In front of this dome, guests will find large inflatable play equipment and a water slide. In summer, the setup doubles as a large pool for water play; in winter, the equipment runs without water as a bouncing and jumping attraction. The room gives families a private outdoor space to play freely without worrying about crowds.

Nature Adventure Dome

This room blends active outdoor play with relaxed downtime in nature. A trampoline and hammock chairs are set up outside, so guests can choose between working up a sweat in the forest breeze or swaying gently in a hammock with a book or coffee. The setup combines outdoor adventure with the ease of glamping.

Forest Bonfire Gastro Dome

This dome is designed for gathering around a fire with family or friends. Alongside it, guests will find a full wood-fired pizza oven, a traditional sweet potato kiln, and a dedicated smoker. Activities include baking pizza from scratch, roasting sweet potatoes and apples, and smoking cheese or nuts — a hands-on "bonfire gourmet" experience that draws out the natural flavors of the ingredients through slow cooking over fire.

Facilities at Glamping Village Fuji Kawaguchiko

Located about 90 minutes by car from central Tokyo, the resort sits in a conifer forest in the Kawaguchiko area of Yamanashi, at over 1,000 meters above sea level, with views of Mt. Fuji.
