The takeout shop "Chiikawa Baby Castella Kyoto Nishiki Store" will hold its grand opening at Nishiki Market in Kyoto on Wednesday, November 18, 2026. It is the second Chiikawa Baby Castella store, following the first store, "Chiikawa Baby Castella Otaru Store."
The popular limited food menu and original goods from Otaru will also be available in Kyoto. Along with freshly baked, fluffy baby castella and soft serve topped with baby castella, the shop offers souvenirs and original goods to enjoy together with the food.
To mark the opening of the Kyoto Nishiki Store, a new mascot set and a cup holder are also being released.
New Goods Launching November 18
The following goods go on sale on Wednesday, November 18 at both the Kyoto Nishiki Store and the Otaru Store.
- These are store-exclusive items and are not sold in the online store.
- They can be purchased on their own.
- Other goods on sale are the same as at the Otaru Store.

Opening Commemorative Novelty
An "Original Sticker" (not for sale) is given as a purchase bonus for the opening of the Kyoto Nishiki Store.

- Limited to one sticker per person per transaction. Payments cannot be split.
- The novelty is distributed only at the Kyoto Nishiki Store.

Kyoto Nishiki Store
From Wednesday, November 18, 2026 to Sunday, January 3, 2027, entry to the Kyoto Nishiki Store requires an advance reservation, and a complete replacement system is used.

How to Order at the Kyoto Nishiki Store
Orders at the Kyoto Nishiki Store are taken by mobile order. Scan the QR code handed out in the store, place your order on your own device, and complete the payment. A number is then issued, and customers are called in order to receive their items.
If mobile ordering is unavailable, a self-checkout is also provided. It accepts credit cards, electronic money, and QR code payments. Cash cannot be used.

About Chiikawa
"Chiikawa" is a manga series by illustrator Nagano that originated on social media.
The story follows the always hardworking Chiikawa and friends such as Hachiware and Usagi, with a cast of distinctive characters whose daily lives are fun, bittersweet, and sometimes a little tough.
The series has expanded widely into merchandise, collaboration cafes, and corporate collaborations. Kodansha has published seven volumes of the book "Chiikawa: Nanka Chiisakute Kawaii Yatsu."
The TV anime "Chiikawa" has been airing on "Mezamashi TV" (Fuji Television network) since April 2022. The film "映画ちいかわ 人魚の島のひみつ" opened on July 24, 2026.
