On February 17, 2026, Coach will open "COACH PLAY KYOTO," an experiential concept store in Kyoto.
Born in 2023, "Coach Play" is a global concept store that blends the brand's cherished craftsmanship, heritage, and playful spirit with each location's unique character and culture. By combining the spirit of New York—Coach's hometown—with local culture, values, and creativity, it provides visitors with opportunities to connect with themselves and discover authentic self-expression. "Coach Play" expresses the unique energy of each city around the world through location-specific experiences.
Following the openings of "Coach Play @ Cat Street" in Harajuku and "Coach Play Osaka," COACH PLAY KYOTO pays homage to the vibrant and colorful world of Bonnie Cashin, Coach's first lead designer. The store features original illustrations layered with neon, allowing visitors to experience Bonnie Cashin's archives with a modern sensibility. By combining the warm, minimalist space crafted from natural oak with bold, oversized installations of Cashin's signature details—the "Turnlock" and "Kiss Lock"—the store weaves together Coach's legacy and expresses the heritage and playfulness the brand holds dear.
Upon entering the store, visitors are immediately greeted by "Tabby," Coach's iconic bag that reinterprets 1970s archives with signature C hardware and refined, modern silhouettes. The elevator doors feature layered graphics combining Kyoto's traditional beauty, New York's colorful and vibrant mood, Coach's signature motifs, and the popular mascot Rexy, creating a fun and playful collage-like visual.
COACH (Re)Loved - Exclusive to COACH PLAY KYOTO
In addition to the latest collections, the store also showcases items from Coach's circular program "COACH (Re)Loved," featuring unique limited-edition bags that have been given new appeal through repair, reconstruction, and creative upcycling. Additionally, with "Coach Create," visitors can enjoy personalizing their purchases with engraved hang tags and customizable charms and straps for their bags, experiencing Coach's craftsmanship and playfulness firsthand.
Furthermore, COACH PLAY KYOTO hosts an in-store stamp rally. Collect stamps on a postcard featuring Bonnie Cashin's sketches to receive a special sticker featuring the elevator graphics.
