côte cour, Japan's first brownie specialty shop, is marking 20 years since its founding. Starting April 29, 2026, the shop is launching a series of anniversary celebrations, beginning with a special novelty giveaway campaign.
20th Anniversary Campaign: Original Charm Giveaway

Born from a desire to bring the authentic taste of brownies to Japan, côte cour has spent the past two decades refining its flavors while staying true to its founding spirit. To express gratitude to customers who have supported the brand over the years, a series of anniversary initiatives will roll out beginning April 29.
The first initiative is a 20th Anniversary Original Charm giveaway. Customers who purchase ¥3,700 or more (tax included) will receive the charm as a gift.
The charm is crafted in the brand's signature colors with the logo worked in elegantly. Each store location carries a different design, with the reverse side featuring the packaging artwork — making them a collectible worth seeking out across multiple stores. The charm can be attached to a key ring or used as a bag charm to personalize everyday items.
Available in limited quantities while supplies last.
Campaign Period: April 29, 2026 (Wednesday) onwards
Participating Locations: Ebisu Main Store, Tokyo Gift Palette, Matsuya Ginza, Haneda Airport Terminal 2 Kinnotsubasa, Lumine Tachikawa, and Lazona Kawasaki Plaza
Five Commitments That Define a Brownie Specialty Shop
1. Consistent Quality, Refined Over 20 Years

côte cour has maintained its own standard of deliciousness throughout two decades of business. At the same time, the blend of couverture chocolate, ingredient balance, and baking conditions are carefully adjusted each season to always deliver the best possible result.
What appears to be a consistent flavor is actually the product of continuous review and subtle refinement — evolving without losing its identity.
2. A Room-Temperature Sweet That Rivals Fresh Chocolate

côte cour's brownies challenge the conventional image of room-temperature confections. The surface is light and crisp, yet one bite reveals an interior that is remarkably moist and chewy — with a richness reminiscent of fresh chocolate. The top layer has its own dedicated recipe and baking temperature to achieve that characteristic first bite.
3. Precise Temperature Control Shapes Every Texture
Brownie-making at côte cour starts with meticulous attention to temperature. Chocolate and eggs are conditioned to appropriate temperatures beforehand, and the preparation environment is finely controlled with micro-adjustments based on each day's temperature and humidity. Extensive research into baking temperatures has led to the shop's signature chewy texture.
4. Handcrafted Patterns — No Two Are the Same

The intricate patterns on the top surface of each brownie are drawn by hand, one by one — not by machine. While aiming for uniform beauty, the process naturally yields subtle variations, giving each piece a warmth that only handcraft can produce.
5. A Gift That Makes an Impression

The appeal of côte cour goes beyond taste. The premium packaging creates a sense of occasion from the moment it is picked up. Opening the box reveals brownies arranged with care, making for a strong impression when given as a gift to someone special. The shop has long been a popular choice for gifts.
Ribbon wrapping service is available at the Ebisu Main Store only.
