DECOR SEIKO is releasing the Springenden Clock "Sho" (翔), a collaboration piece combining cast artwork by metal artist Ryohei Miyata with a skeleton movement. Available from October 9 (Friday), the clock is limited to just 10 units domestically, with a suggested retail price of ¥3,300,000 (tax included).
The Collaboration: "Springenden" Meets DECOR SEIKO

The piece depicts three dolphins leaping upward together through the open sea. Each dolphin can be seen as family or as companions, inviting different stories from each viewer. The dynamic cast frame is paired with Seiko's quartz skeleton movement, merging fine craft with precision engineering.
Miyata's "Springenden" series — the name is German for "leaping" or "flying" — is one of his most recognizable bodies of work. The series was inspired by an encounter with dolphins swimming powerfully through winter seas as Miyata traveled from his hometown to Tokyo. Works from the series are known to bring a sense of courage and energy to those who view them.
Entirely Hand-Crafted by Miyata

From the creation of the original model through casting, assembly, coloring, and decorative finishing, every step is carried out by Miyata himself. The decorative finish employs traditional maki-e lacquerwork techniques, with a diverse range of metallic foils — pure gold, green gold, silver, and colored foil — applied to express the beauty and brilliance of the waves. The resulting work has depth, variation, and a richly expressive appearance.

Each piece is completed with Miyata's personal signature, engraved by hand, making every clock a truly one-of-a-kind work.
Japan-Made Quartz Skeleton Movement

The clock body incorporates Seiko's proprietary quartz skeleton movement, which features a delicate gear train that appears to float in mid-air. Despite its mechanical appearance, the contemporary motor drive ensures precise timekeeping. The final assembly of the movement is carried out by Seiko's skilled technicians.
