Taiwan's cultural lifestyle brand eslite spectrum is heading to Osaka. A new store is planned to open at Namba Marui in Osaka's Namba district in 2027, marking the brand's first location in the Kansai region. Yurindo Co., Ltd. — which has operated Japan's first eslite spectrum store at Nihonbashi, Tokyo, since 2019 — will run the new location as a licensee, following an invitation from Marui Co., Ltd.
Why Namba?

Namba Marui sits at the heart of Namba in Osaka, a major economic and transportation hub in the Kansai region. The area is close to popular destinations including Shinsaibashi, Dotonbori, and Kuromon Market, and attracts a diverse mix of visitors from across Japan and beyond.
The partnership came together because Namba Marui's vision as "a hub for Asian culture and entertainment" aligns with eslite spectrum's long-standing commitment to local culture and community connection. The new store aims to go beyond retail, becoming a gathering place where books, everyday life, and culture intersect — a space for creativity and connection between people and the city.

Background: eslite spectrum in Japan

Since opening Japan's first eslite spectrum store at Nihonbashi in Tokyo in September 2019, Yurindo has developed the location into a cultural destination that brings together books, stationery, lifestyle goods, food, crafts, dining, and events. The store has hosted over 100 events annually, fostering cultural exchange between Taiwan and Japan and building connections between creators, authors, and communities in both countries.
The Osaka store will draw on this experience — combining eslite spectrum's curation, event programming, and Taiwanese cultural outreach with Yurindo's bookselling and cultural expertise — to contribute to the vitality of the Namba neighborhood.
About eslite spectrum

Founded in Taipei in 1989, eslite spectrum operates under the concept "Books, and Everything in Between," combining books and stationery with carefully curated lifestyle items from around the world in a cultural complex format. The brand grew from a bookstore into one of Taiwan's defining cultural identities by placing emphasis on local culture, design, and community, and now has locations across Taiwan, Hong Kong, Suzhou, Kuala Lumpur, and Tokyo.
Beyond retail, eslite spectrum has expanded into galleries, performance halls, cinemas, wine cellars, restaurants, and hotels, offering a comprehensive urban living and cultural experience. The brand has received international recognition: TIME Asia named it "Asia's Best Bookstore" in 2004, and CNN selected it as one of the "14 Coolest Department Stores in the World" in 2016.
