A second Tower of the Sun (太陽の塔) will appear in the night sky above Expo’70 Commemorative Park (万博記念公園) in Suita, Osaka, on Saturday, November 21, 2026. The 5th edition of "Art Night in the Sky at Expo ’70 Park" (第5回 万博夜空がアートになる日 2026) is a fireworks event in which about 15,000 fireworks are synchronized with music. It will open with a drone show in which 500 drones draw the park's symbol, the Tower of the Sun, in the sky, as a special program marking the event's fifth anniversary.
The drone show is directed and operated by REDCLIFF, Inc., which has been in charge of it for the third year in a row. The event is organized by the Banpaku Hanabi Project Executive Committee (万博花火プロジェクト実行委員会).

"Art Night in the Sky at Expo ’70 Park" (万博夜空がアートになる日) is a fireworks event that has been held at Expo’70 Commemorative Park since its first edition in 2022.
REDCLIFF has been in charge of the drone show since 2024. In 2024, with the theme of limitless creative possibilities, the show used 500 drones, and in one special scene fireworks were launched from some of the drones during the performance. In 2025, drones fitted with high-brightness "flash modules" staged a fantastical show inspired by winter constellations and the Christmas season.
The 2024 show
For the fifth anniversary, the drone show will depict the Tower of the Sun, which was built as the symbol of the 1970 Japan World Exposition (日本万国博覧会).
At the opening drone show starting at 7:00 PM, the real Tower of the Sun, visible to the left of the seating area, will appear together with the Tower of the Sun drawn in the night sky by the drones. This is a sight unique to this year's event: two Towers of the Sun can be seen at the same time.
The drone show will brightly kick off the music fireworks program. Around 8:00 PM, when the fireworks end, a drone performance is also planned for the finale.
This year, the seating area has been moved to the "East Plaza" (東の広場) in Expo’70 Commemorative Park, an open location with few obstructions to the view. Visitors can enjoy a wide-view production that turns the entire night sky into a giant theater from all-reserved seating.
A Day With an FM802 Collaboration, Local Culture, and Food
At the venue, in addition to a fireworks production created as a special collaboration with FM802, a variety of programs are planned. They include the "Hokusetsu Culture Festival" (北摂文化祭), where visitors can experience the culture of the Hokusetsu area, and a food area serving everything from light snacks to full meals.
The event runs through the day, from the 12:00 PM opening to the main program in the evening.
