Barneys New York Kobe is hosting a pop-up event by jewelry brand FUMIO MAKINO from April 3 (Friday) to April 26 (Sunday), 2026. The event showcases spring-inspired jewelry adorned with colorful flowers, crafted with natural gemstones.
FUMIO MAKINO was founded in 2024 by a designer captivated by colored stones, after encountering master gem cutters in Jaipur, India's renowned jewelry hub. The brand combines playful motifs rendered in natural gemstones with classical craftsmanship, vivid colors, and a touch of wit. Pieces are produced in collaboration with Jaipur's artisans, blending traditional jewelry techniques with the designer's contemporary sensibility to create work that is colorful and playful, yet classically refined.
During the event, visitors can explore the signature "Gem Flower Collection," featuring fresh blooms depicted in opals and quartz, as well as the "Candy Collection," which recreates childhood toy gems using diamonds and sapphires. Both collections offer a varied selection of spring-ready pieces.
