CAMP AKAIKE, a campsite in Shoji, Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi Prefecture, is hosting "Sologuru Camp 2026" from Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18, 2026.

This marks the second time the event has been held. Over the three days, the campsite's Free Sites (forest and grounds areas) are reserved exclusively for the event, giving solo campers a chance to enjoy their own camping style while connecting with one another in nature. The standard plan runs two nights from Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 18, though a one-night plan is also available. A welcome party is planned for the evening of Friday the 16th, and an event for participants to enjoy together is planned for Saturday the 17th.
Participation and reservations are basically for solo campers, though children of elementary-school age or younger may accompany a participant. Guests can bring a solo tent, a smaller tent for around two people, or a shelter.
A Time to Be at One with Nature, Only Possible with Solo Camping
CAMP AKAIKE is surrounded by a sea-of-trees forest at the foot of Mount Fuji. Away from the noise of everyday life, guests can gather around a fire, brew coffee, and spend time however they like.
"Sologuru Camp 2026" is an event where participants can enjoy the freedom of solo camping while also meeting and connecting with fellow campers who share the same interest.
It offers both the quiet time that comes from camping alone and the new connections that come from being among fellow campers—a special weekend to spend crafting your own story in the rich nature at the foot of Mount Fuji.

Please let staff know at check-in if you are bringing an additional child; the fee for children of elementary-school age or younger is ¥750. Guests without a Nap-Camp account should book together with a friend or another representative who has one. Vehicles may drive up to the site only for about 15 minutes when loading or unloading gear.
Day Camp (Fire Base): A New Fire-Pit Area, Limited to Two Groups a Day
A new day-camp fire space facing the sea of trees has been set up, ideal for cooking over a fire or simply relaxing. It comes with a 60 cm-diameter fire pit, eight wooden chairs, and firewood.

What Is CAMP AKAIKE?
Surrounded by a sea-of-trees forest at the foot of Mount Fuji, CAMP AKAIKE is a campsite for everyone from groups and families to solo campers. It offers a wide variety of site types, including Auto Sites that allow guests to drive their car onto the grounds, Free Sites where guests can freely pitch a tent and tarp and stay for up to 32 hours, and Free Site Bike, recommended for solo campers arriving by motorcycle or bicycle. Rental gear—including tents, tarps, sleeping bags, and wood stoves—is also well stocked, making the campsite easy to enjoy even for camping beginners. A gymnasium (recreation room) is also available free of charge as a play space on rainy days.
A Campsite With Something to Offer in Spring, Summer, and Autumn
Because CAMP AKAIKE sits within the sea of trees, guests can enjoy camping surrounded by beautiful fresh greenery from April to May. The campsite's elevation also keeps temperatures cooler than in the city, making for comfortable camping in summer, when water sports on Lake Shoji are also at their peak—worth combining with a stay at the campsite. In autumn, the trees begin to change color, and guests can camp while taking in scenery unique to the forest. CAMP AKAIKE has something to offer across all three seasons.

Located within the sea of trees at the foot of Mount Fuji, CAMP AKAIKE sits near Lake Shoji, one of the Fuji Five Lakes, where guests can enjoy water activities such as canoeing, SUP, and fishing against the backdrop of Mount Fuji. The grounds are also home to "Akaike," a mysterious pond sometimes called the sixth of the Fuji Five Lakes. It usually looks like little more than a hollow, but once every few years—typically after heavy rain—it fills with water, a natural phenomenon. CAMP AKAIKE makes a great base for taking in the nature of Mount Fuji.

- From Tokyo: About 25 minutes from Kawaguchiko IC on the Chuo Expressway.
- From Shizuoka: About 45 minutes from Fuji IC on the Tomei Expressway.
From the "Akaike" intersection on National Route 139, beside Lake Shoji, one of the Fuji Five Lakes (Restaurant New Akaike is a landmark there), head in the direction below. Reception is 400 m past the intersection.
