Shima Oden MIKE Marunouchi Launches Summer Awaji Island Hamo Shabu-Shabu Course and Chilled Oden

Shima Oden MIKE at its Marunouchi branch in Tokyo is now offering a summer-limited "Seasonal Ingredients and Awaji Hamo Dashi Shabu-Shabu Course" for ¥7,500 per person (tax included).

The course showcases hamo (pike conger) from Awaji Island and other seasonal fish, served shabu-shabu style in the restaurant's signature housemade dashi broth, delivering the delicate umami of hamo alongside the refined aroma of carefully prepared stock.

Seasonal Ingredients and Awaji Hamo Dashi Shabu-Shabu Course

  • Today's obanzai (3 types)
  • Mike's chawanmushi (steamed egg custard)
  • Assorted sashimi (3 types)
  • Signature seasonal satsuma-age (fried fish cake)
  • MIKE's Hamo Dashi Oden (choose 3 from the following):
    • Daikon radish soaked in the house dashi
    • Awaji beef tendon
    • Konjac
    • Thick-fried tofu
    • Island vegetable kinchaku (pouch)
    • Ume cheese kinchaku
    • Awaji/Kitasaka egg
    • Awaji wakame seaweed
    • Tsukune (meatball) with seasonal ingredients
    • Awaji onion
    • Octopus (+¥400)
    • Chilled manzai pepper
    • Chilled Awaji gourmet tomato (+¥400)
    • Chilled jade eggplant with salmon roe
  • Grilled Awaji wagyu beef skewers
  • Awaji Hamo Dashi Shabu-Shabu
  • Seasonal takikomi gohan (seasoned rice), pickles, and red miso soup
    • Upgrade to a finishing dish for +¥1,000:
      • Chicken paitan butter ramen
      • Mike's tamagoya (egg rice bowl)
      • Seared sea bream chilled island lemon soba
  • Frozen gelato with seasonal fruits and hojicha tea

Chilled Oden at Shima Oden MIKE Marunouchi

A new summer specialty, "Chilled Oden", is also available. Seasonal summer vegetables are fully infused with dashi and served cool with a dashi sorbet, offering a refreshing take on a Japanese classic.

From appetizers through oden, hamo dashi shabu-shabu, and the finishing course, the menu celebrates Awaji Island produce and the season's bounty in a special summer lineup.
