Fukuoka-based confectionery brand Harapecolab has announced "Mineral Ice," a new summer dessert that embeds colorful fragments of their signature kohakuto candy — known as kobutsu wo kashi — into frozen treats. Pre-orders are open from June 5, 2026, through the brand's official online store, with shipping beginning June 19.
The lineup pairs Milk Ice and Lemon Sherbet, available in 4-piece and 6-piece sets. The candy fragments — small pieces of agar jelly left over when the kohakuto candies are cut — give each spoonful a jewel-like shimmer and a distinctively chewy texture alongside the cold creaminess of the ice cream.

Milk Ice
The Milk Ice is made with Hokkaido cream blended with cream cheese, giving it a rich flavor with a clean finish. Kohakuto fragments are scattered throughout, adding bursts of color and a soft, springy bite. (Product classification: Ice Milk)

Lemon Sherbet
The Lemon Sherbet uses freshly squeezed juice from specially cultivated lemons grown in Uki City, Kumamoto Prefecture, creating a bright, tart flavor with a refreshing aftertaste. Colorful kohakuto fragments inside carry flavors of Okinawan brown sugar, Fukuoka Amaou strawberry, Nagasaki Saikai mandarin, Miyazaki mango, and Oita kabosu — a selection drawing on regional ingredients from across Kyushu. (Product classification: Ice candy)
Topping Kohakuto

An optional "Topping Kohakuto" is available as a separate item, letting buyers dress up their ice cream cups with additional gemstone-like candy pieces. The toppings work equally well floated in sparkling water or arranged on top of fruit parfaits.
