This year's five-day Silver Week — Japan's first in 11 years — is expected to fuel a surge in autumn travel and leisure demand. As the autumn travel season gets underway, Dogo Onsen, one of Ehime Prefecture's signature hot spring destinations, is bustling with a rising wave of domestic and international visitors. At the heart of the district, Yamadaya Manju's Dogo Onsen Store and its attached café, Charaku, are marking the season with a special autumn promotion inviting visitors — Japanese and international alike — to experience the charm of traditional Japanese wagashi alongside the rich flavors of autumn.
Yamadaya Co., Ltd., which has spent 159 years refining the art of anko fillings since its founding in 1867, is holding an Autumn Flavors Fair from September 1, 2026, centered on its Dogo Onsen Store and Charaku café. Starting in October, the fair adds a store-exclusive Chestnut Anmitsu, while newly released Japanese Chestnut Pudding and Sweet Potato Pudding also become available for takeout and eat-in at the Dogo Onsen Store and Charaku.
The fair invites visitors to pause during a stroll around Dogo and enjoy a special taste of Japanese autumn.
