Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo to Hold "British-Style Afternoon Tea Manner Class" on July 29 and August 19

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Tomohiko Chihiro) will hold a "British-Style Afternoon Tea Manner Class" on Wednesday, July 29 and Wednesday, August 19, giving families a chance to enjoy learning British tea culture and manners together.

A First Taste of Afternoon Tea Manners

This class is designed as a gentle introduction to the basic manners and ways of enjoying afternoon tea.

While savoring the refreshing and charming "Peach × Melon Afternoon Tea," guests will get a feel for the basic etiquette long practiced in the UK, the home of afternoon tea — including how to use a napkin and how to handle a teacup. How to hold cutlery and how to enjoy a scone will also be introduced clearly through an actual serving scene.

Table setting for the afternoon tea manner class at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo

The "Peach × Melon Afternoon Tea" is served in a course-like sequence running from amuse-bouche to savories and sweets, letting guests enjoy the gentle sweetness of peach and the rich aroma of melon in both the sweet and savory items. Following the menu's step-by-step flow, guests can experience the pacing unique to afternoon tea while picking up basic manners for a comfortable dining experience.

The class makes for an enjoyable seasonal outing among friends or for a girls' get-together, and it also welcomes children of elementary school age and up, who can take part hands-on alongside the adults.

Learning table manners together as a family can turn a special day's meal into a more elegant and enjoyable occasion. Approachable even for those trying afternoon tea for the first time, the class is a nice way to build summer holiday memories or simply to enjoy everyday meals a little more mindfully.

Every guest also receives a souvenir of "Tsubaki-cha," a tea blended from pesticide-free camellia flowers grown in the Kesen region of Iwate Prefecture and amacha (sweet hydrangea tea), with a gentle sweetness that lets guests continue their tea time at home.
