Hotel Intergate Kyoto Shijo Shinmachi to Host "Traditional Industry Day WEEK 2026" This March

Hotel Intergate Kyoto Shijo Shinmachi, located in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, is hosting "Traditional Industry Day WEEK 2026" from March 11 (Wednesday) to March 20 (Friday), 2026. The event coincides with Kyoto City's designated "Traditional Industry Day" on March 20—the vernal equinox—a day set aside each year to honor and bring closer attention to the city's centuries-old traditional crafts.

Spanning the full 10-day window around this date, the hotel's "Traditional Industry Day WEEK" brings together a range of experiences—from watching a maiko dance by the glow of Japanese wax candles to hands-on craft workshops—open to both hotel guests and outside visitors.

Nishijin-ori Silk Thread Lamp Shade Display

Throughout the event period, the first-floor Intergate Lounge will be decorated with lamp shades made from the vivid, multicolored silk threads used in Nishijin-ori weaving. The display runs daily from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, March 11–20.

Cooperation: Tsuzureori Gijutsu Hozonkai Soushi Tsudureyen
