Hotel Granvia Kyoto, directly connected to JR Kyoto Station, is launching an exclusive program for guests staying on the hotel's 14th and 15th floor "Gran Via Floor." Running from June 2 to November 30, 2026, the program grants access to a private ritual and special viewing experience at Fushimi Inari-taisha — the head shrine of approximately 30,000 Inari shrines across Japan.
Led by shrine priests, participants will tour the normally off-limits Shoin (study room) within the shrine's administrative offices, followed by a formal prayer at the main hall and a traditional kagura (sacred dance) performance by shrine maidens at the Kaguraden hall. The quiet, solemn atmosphere of the Shoin stands apart from the bustling main grounds, offering a rare glimpse into a side of the shrine that most visitors never see.

From the Shoin, visitors can look out over a traditional pond-stroll garden created to mark the 1,300th anniversary of the shrine's founding. The building also houses fusuma sliding door paintings titled "INARI," donated in 2025 by Yoshitaka Amano — the artist internationally known for his character designs in the Final Fantasy video game series.

Fushimi Inari-taisha was founded in 711 CE during the Nara period and celebrated its 1,300th anniversary in 2011. Revered as a guardian deity of good harvests, business prosperity, household safety, and artistic achievement, it draws visitors from Japan and around the world. The shrine is particularly known for its roughly 10,000 torii gates that wind up Inari Mountain, each donated as an expression of gratitude for answered prayers.
