Enjoy Setsubun in Your Private Room! Hotel Kanazawa Launches Accommodation Plan with Premium Seafood Ehomaki Supervised by Japanese Chef

Hotel Kanazawa in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is now accepting reservations for an accommodation plan featuring a premium seafood ehomaki (lucky roll) supervised by Japanese head chef Hashimoto for Setsubun 2026 (February 3). The plan allows guests to enjoy the traditional ehomaki in the quiet privacy of their hotel room.

Hotel Rooms: The Perfect Space for Ehomaki's Silent Tradition

According to Setsubun tradition, one should face the lucky direction, make a wish, and eat the entire ehomaki roll in silence. However, maintaining complete silence can be challenging at home or in restaurants. Hotel Kanazawa believes that the undisturbed privacy of a hotel room is the ideal setting to properly observe this traditional custom and welcome good fortune. The plan combines a specially prepared ehomaki with overnight accommodation, allowing guests to fully savor the authentic flavors created by a head chef well-versed in Hokuriku's seafood bounty.

Hotel Kanazawa Premium Seafood Ehomaki

Impressive Volume: 9 Ingredients Create Layers of Umami

The Premium Seafood Ehomaki supervised by Japanese head chef Hashimoto features an impressive diameter of approximately 6cm. Marinated tuna, fragrant grilled eel, popping salmon roe marinated in soy sauce, and other star ingredients are tightly rolled together. Following the tradition of not cutting the roll to avoid "severing good fortune," it's delivered whole in its impressive form. With each bite, the rich umami of the seafood, the sweetness of the thick omelet, and the refreshing texture of cucumber and shiso leaves intertwine, delivering happiness from the first bite to the last.
