Hotel Metropolitan Edmont Tokyo (Iidabashi, Chiyoda-ku) is hosting "Golden Week Family Festa 2026" in its banquet hall over two days on May 2 and 3. The event brings together a variety of railway-themed activities and experiences suitable for children and adults alike.
The highlight of the event is a giant Plarail diorama measuring 7.2m x 3.6m, along with a free-play corner where guests can bring their own Plarail sets. The lineup also includes 1/20-scale models of Shinkansen trains, a station job experience session with real station staff, and a railway sticker rally with prizes for all participating children. Additionally, the popular junior patissier workshop returns, where a hotel pastry chef guides kids through completing their own desserts. Meals are served buffet-style, with hotel-made roast beef (limited quantity), curry, fried chicken, and potato fries among the offerings.

Magicians Yuki Tsukahara and Sotaro Matsumoto deliver a spectacular illusion magic show for the whole family.
Giant Plarail Diorama & Free-Play Corner
A Plarail diorama (7.2m x 3.6m) is set up inside the venue, offering a detailed and impressive running display. There is also a free-play area where guests can bring their own Plarail sets and run them freely.
Station Uniform Photo & Railway Job Experience
Real station masters and station staff join guests for a photo opportunity wearing children's stationmaster uniforms in front of a photo panel, plus an original can badge-making session and other railway job activities.
Shinkansen Scale Model Display
1/20-scale models of the E5, E6, E7, and E8 Shinkansen lead cars are on display.
JEMAPS Experience Corner
Families can explore the JR East railway transport system while watching train movements from a bird's-eye perspective, as if drifting through clouds above the land.
Photo Spot
A large face-cut photo panel shaped like the front of a Yamanote Line train is set up for family photos.
Railway Sticker Rally
Children who visit all the activity corners and collect all the stickers receive a certificate of completion and a prize.
