Tea & Cocktail "Garden Lounge" at Hotel New Otani (Tokyo) is holding a limited-time sweets buffet themed around chestnuts and grapes, showcasing the flavors of autumn, from September 1 (Tuesday) through November 30 (Monday), 2026.
An Elegant Space Overlooking the Japanese Garden — A Buffet That Fully Captures the Flavors of Autumn

The hotel's "Super Sweets Buffet," where the ingredients change with the season, lets guests enjoy the hotel's signature sweets and dishes to their heart's content. From September, the buffet is built around chestnuts and grapes, the fruits that define autumn, featuring sweets made generously with seasonal ingredients. Alongside Mont Blanc, beloved as a fixture of autumn, familiar favorites like shortcake and roll cake are also given an autumn-inspired twist. About 20 types of sweets are on offer, letting guests fully savor chestnuts, grapes, and other autumn ingredients — a lineup as vivid and rich in flavor as this season of hearty appetites.

Tea & Cocktail "Garden Lounge," where the "Super Sweets Buffet 2026 — Chestnut & Grape" is being held, is also known for its dining experience with a stunning view of the approximately 10,000-tsubo (about 33,000-square-meter) Japanese garden through its full-height windows. During the fall foliage season, guests can enjoy an elegant time gazing out at the trees turning shades of yellow and red.
Cute, Bite-Sized Chestnut & Grape Sweets, to Your Heart's Content

Among the sweets made generously with chestnut, the season's signature autumn flavor, the "Marron Shortcake" — pairing the refined sweetness of seasonal chestnut with a light cream — makes its debut exclusively for this buffet. Joining it from Hotel New Otani's signature "Super Series" is the "Super Melon Shortcake," made generously with Shizuoka-grown musk melon boasting a sugar content of 14 degrees or higher, along with the "Strawberry Shortcake," made with strawberries the chef carefully selects each season — letting guests compare all three shortcakes at once. Also on offer is the "Mont Blanc," wrapping shibukawa-ni chestnut (chestnut simmered with its inner skin) and fresh cream in the hotel's original marron paste, along with other sweets that bring out the chestnut's refined sweetness and rich flavor, perfect for autumn cravings.

Beyond these, an all-chestnut lineup awaits, including the "Marron Cream Puff," filled generously with marron custard cream, and the "Marron Panna Cotta," with its rich, smooth flavor.

Sweets made with grape, which comes into season in autumn, are also offered in a full lineup. These include the "Grape Roll," wrapping grape kanten jelly in a moist, light sponge; the "Iwaizumi Yogurt Jelly," combining jelly made with Iwate-grown Iwaizumi yogurt with the flavor of grape; and the "Grape Jelly" and "Grape Sherbet," both made generously with grape juice — a packed lineup of sweets that let guests enjoy grape's juicy, rich flavor.
17 Original Sandwiches, Plus a Full Lineup of Japanese, Western & Chinese Hot Dishes

The hotel chefs' signature sandwiches come in 17 varieties. The ever-popular "Pork Cutlet Sandwich" lets guests fully enjoy the savory flavor of juicy pork cutlet. Also on offer are distinctive creations built around unique flavor combinations, such as the "Dashimaki Tamago Sandwich," pairing the hotel's specially made rolled omelet with the rich aroma of Hamanako-grown nori and the elegant sweetness of mitarashi sauce, and the "Lemon-Scented Smoked Salmon Sandwich," brightening the deep, savory flavor of smoked salmon with a refreshing hint of lemon. On weekends only, a new "Steak Sandwich," generously showcasing the meat's natural flavor, also joins the lineup. Guests can enjoy comparing the hotel's varied sandwiches side by side.

Japanese, Western, and Chinese hot dishes that add color to the buffet are also plentiful. These include the long-beloved "Hotel's Traditional Beef Stew," freshly steamed "Dim Sum," "Sweet and Sour Pork in Black Vinegar Sauce with Colorful Vegetables," and the "Seasonal Takikomi Gohan," capturing the flavor of seasonal ingredients — a varied menu that showcases the hotel chefs' skill and care. From classic favorites enjoyed across generations to distinctive creations that bring out the best in each ingredient, a wide variety of dishes await.
Four New Original Drinks Showcase the Many Charms of Shine Muscat

Four original drinks that let guests fully savor the season's Shine Muscat grapes are on offer. These include the "Shine Muscat Fruitis," combining the sweetness of the juice with the moderate tartness of apple vinegar for a layered flavor; the "Shine Muscat Herb Soda," layering Shine Muscat's vivid sweetness with the refreshing aroma of herbs for a light, soda-based finish; the "Shine Muscat Squash," letting guests enjoy the fruit's rich, juicy natural flavor straight; and the "Shine Muscat Yogurt," where Shine Muscat's vivid sweetness harmonizes with yogurt's refreshing tartness for a crisp, clean finish. Each of these distinct flavors pairs wonderfully with the buffet's sweets, sandwiches, and hot dishes.

A Two-Day-Only "Silver Week JAZZ Night Buffet"

Tea & Cocktail "Garden Lounge," which normally runs its buffet from lunchtime through teatime, is moving the buffet to dinner time for two days only, on September 20 (Sunday) and 21 (Monday, holiday), 2026. Fitting for dinner, both the dishes and sweets are given an upgrade. The lineup includes "Jamon Serrano," Spanish cured ham that a chef carves in front of guests, along with New Orleans-inspired dishes such as "Seafood Creole" and "Jambalaya" to match the evening's theme. The dinnertime's theme is "JAZZ," with a live performance by an up-and-coming jazz player accompanying the meal. Over Silver Week, guests can enjoy a special time savoring both the appetite of autumn and the arts of autumn at once.
