From September 1 (Tue) through November 30 (Mon), 2026, Hotel New Otani Makuhari is rolling out a lineup of limited-time menus and special events built around the comfortable autumn season, organized around three ways to enjoy fall: appetite, art, and sports.

A Season for Appetite: Luxurious Autumn Gourmet and Sweets

The Ultimate Japanese Chestnut Dessert: "Super Mont Blanc" (Patisserie SATSUKI)

Super Mont Blanc

Hotel New Otani's autumn signature returns this year, an evolved Mont Blanc built with select Japanese chestnut to bring out the natural richness of its ingredients. It's built on an almond tart scented with wasanbon sugar and vanilla, layered with a chewy "wasanbon vanilla mochi," a light baked meringue with elderflower, and a "ganache montée" balancing vanilla and cream cheese. A hidden touch of "Hingya no Shio" salt from Aogashima deepens the chestnut's sweetness for a dessert with real depth.

A Buffet to Savor the Season: "Super Sweets Buffet — Chestnut and Grape" (All Day Dining SATSUKI)

Super Sweets Buffet 2026 — Chestnut and Grape

Themed around chestnuts and grapes, this buffet pairs autumn-limited sweets with the hotel's signature dishes. A buffet-exclusive "Chestnut Shortcake" headlines the sweets table alongside a "Chestnut Panna Cotta" and a "Grape Roll," built around the season's harvest. On the savory side, guests can enjoy "Traditional Roast Beef" and "Freshly Fried Tempura" finished in front of them, plus stone-oven-baked autumn pizzas — an "Eggplant and Mushroom Japanese-Style Pizza" (lunch only) and a "Salsiccia and Spinach Pizza" (dinner only) — bringing together the best of Japanese and Western cooking.

A Chinese Afternoon Tea for Self-Care: "Autumn Chinese Afternoon Tea Set" (Chinese Restaurant Taikanen)

Autumn Chinese Afternoon Tea Set

Taikanen's first-ever afternoon tea is themed around gently soothing the fatigue of summer. The set brings together a collagen-rich shark fin soup and black vinegar sweet-and-sour pork, piping-hot dim sum, and eight kinds of hotel-made sweets, letting guests sample Taikanen's signature Chinese cooking in small, indulgent portions. Guests also choose one drink from four select Chinese teas and medicinal teas, including a premium Ali Mountain tea and a white peach oolong tea.

The King of Autumn Flavors: "Matsutake Kaiseki — Kinshu" (Japanese Restaurant Senbazuru)

Matsutake Kaiseki — Kinshu

A luxurious kaiseki course built around matsutake mushroom, the king of autumn flavors. Highlights include a "Matsutake and Pike Conger Clay Pot Steam" (the pike conger will switch to longtooth grouper from October 1) that releases a rich aroma the moment its lid is lifted, "Grilled Tilefish Wakasa-Style with Grilled Matsutake," and "Matsutake and Abalone Simmered in Kelp Broth with Liver Sauce and Ginger." Guests finish the meal with a choice of "Matsutake Rice" or "Matsutake Kakiage Tempura Soba," rounding out a course devoted to matsutake from starter to finish.

A Season for Art: Culture and Entertainment in a Refined Setting

September 21 (Mon, Holiday): A Lecture by Shima Tassin — How to Enjoy Family Meals Together

Shima Tassin lecture and special lunch course

A special program featuring Shima Tassin, the housekeeper known across the media as "the housekeeper you can't book." Ahead of the lecture, Hotel New Otani Makuhari's Executive Chef Takayuki Otake prepares a one-day-only special lunch course based on Tassin's recipes. After savoring this course, which blends Tassin's sensibility with the hotel's traditional technique, guests attend a lecture filled with tips for enjoying everyday family meals without the pressure.

October 12 (Mon, Holiday): Makuhari Mihama Yose, a Rakugo Gathering With East and West's Leading Names

Makuhari Mihama Yose rakugo performance

A rare gathering bringing together three of rakugo's biggest names: Katsura Bunshi, a treasure of Kamigata (Osaka-style) rakugo; Hayashiya Shozo, a leading figure of Edo (Tokyo-style) rakugo; and Katsura Miyaji, celebrated as the "king of laughter" of the Reiwa era. Guests can settle into the hotel's refined setting to take in the artistry and easy wit of these masters representing rakugo's eastern and western traditions. A course meal crafted by the hotel's executive chef precedes the performance, pairing fine dining with a comedic art form loved across generations for a rich autumn day.

A Season for Sports: An Active, Refreshing Stay

Unlimited Use of the Indoor Golf Range: "Golf & Stay — A Premium Stay for Your Best Score"

Golf & Stay — A Premium Stay for Your Best Score

This stay plan gives guests unlimited use, throughout their stay, of the indoor golf practice range inside Club & Club, Hotel New Otani Makuhari's members' fitness club. After a refreshing workout, guests can unwind further at the indoor pool, jacuzzi, and full-scale sauna. It's a way to pair an active autumn with the hotel's food and culture offerings, all within one comfortable, private space.

Just a short trip from central Tokyo, Hotel New Otani Makuhari offers a resort setting to satisfy all five senses this autumn. With the season's cool breeze setting in, the hotel invites guests to find their own special version of fall.
