Restaurant Fontana at Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay (Urayasu City, Chiba) will be serving a special Italian-themed afternoon tea — "Pomeriggio Italiano" (ポメリッジョ・イタリアーノ) — An Italian Afternoon — for a limited six days: May 19 (Tue) through 21 (Thu) and May 26 (Tue) through 28 (Thu), 2026.

The menu brings together traditional sweets and classic dolce cherished throughout Italy, presented in an afternoon tea format alongside Italian-inspired savory dishes.

Traditional Italian Dolce

The sweet lineup draws on the culinary heritage of several Italian regions. The Zuccotto Cake is a dome-shaped sponge of Florentine origin, filled with mascarpone cream studded with nuts and dried fruits. The Pistachio Cream Cannolo features a tubular pastry shell from Sicily, packed with pistachio cream. Also on the menu is the Raisin and Fig Torta Caprese, a rich chocolate and almond cake originally from the island of Capri, baked with raisins and dried figs.

Widely familiar sweets such as tiramisu and panna cotta are also part of the offering. The Classic Tiramisu uses a light meringue-based sponge soaked in coffee syrup, layered with mascarpone cream. The Italian Panna Cotta presents pistachio and milk in two distinct layers, finished with a berry sauce that evokes the colors of the Italian flag.

On the savory side, the chilled Hokkaido White Corn Zuppa (soup) highlights the natural sweetness of Hokkaido white corn in a cold preparation, garnished with roasted baby corn and Parmigiano cheese crisps. There is also a Sea Bass and Grilled Aubergine Millefeuille, in which marinated sea bass and grilled eggplant are stacked in layers for a fresh, light finish.

Further savory options include Fruit Tomato and Caper Rigatoni, a short pasta dish where concentrated tomato sweetness and acidity are brightened with a caper accent and a hint of basil. The selection is rounded out by a Spiced Meat Panini, served freshly grilled.
