Hotel Universal Port and Hotel Universal Port Vita, official hotels of Universal Studios Japan located in Konohana Ward, Osaka, will mark Pride Month (June 1–30, 2026) by displaying rainbow flag decorations throughout both properties. As part of the initiative, Lounge R at Hotel Universal Port will serve a special rainbow-colored cocktail for the duration of the month.
The effort aims to create a welcoming environment where all guests — domestic travelers and international visitors alike — can feel comfortable being themselves during their stay. Pride Month, observed worldwide each June, honors LGBTQ+ communities and promotes understanding of diverse sexual and gender identities.
Rainbow Cocktail at Lounge R
The Rainbow Cocktail represents the six colors of the rainbow flag — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple — and was created with the wish that everyone can live authentically as themselves. Built on a Malibu base, the drink layers tropical fruit flavors from pineapple juice and orange juice, then finishes with the vivid hues of blue curaçao and strawberry syrup. Decorated with a lemon slice and flowers, the cocktail offers a gentle sweetness and refreshing tartness.

LGBTQ+ Staff Training
In March 2026, staff (called "crew") at both Hotel Universal Port and Hotel Universal Port Vita completed an LGBTQ+ seminar covering fundamental knowledge and hospitality practices. As a result of this training, both hotels received certification as "LGBTQ Friendly Hotels" from the Osaka Tourism Bureau. The hotels plan to continue building awareness so that guests from around the world can enjoy a comfortable, welcoming stay.
Hotel Universal Port
Hotel Universal Port is an official hotel of Universal Studios Japan with 600 guest rooms, located just a short walk from the park. The property offers a variety of themed rooms developed in collaboration with the park, including the Japan-first "Minion Room Gru's Mansion," "Minion Room 2 Agnes's Room," and "Minion Room 3 Super Silly Fun Land," along with the "Doki Doki Adventure Room" (accommodating up to 5 guests), the baby-friendly "WAKU WAKU Wonder Room," and the "Girly Room" designed for style-conscious adults. The top floor features the "PORT DEEP OCEAN FLOOR," a special deep-sea-themed floor with exclusive privileges for guests.

Hotel Universal Port Vita opened in July 2018 as the seventh official hotel of Universal Studios Japan. The property features 14 distinctive room types, including the "Sparkle Room" with park views, the multi-level "Mokomoko Mezzanine Room" with a living area above and bedroom below, and the "Rainbow Room" with three bunk beds for up to 6 guests.
