Super Nintendo World, the popular themed area at Universal Studios Japan, will celebrate its 5th anniversary on March 18, 2026. The area first opened to guests on March 18, 2021, and has since become a major attraction.
To commemorate this milestone, the area will introduce limited-edition merchandise and food items inspired by the Super Star, the iconic power-up from Mario games that grants invincibility. The 5th anniversary theme is "We are all STARS!", bringing guests together through special experiences and collaborative fun.
Limited-Edition Anniversary Merchandise
Anniversary Power-Up Band
A special "Invincible Mario" version of the Power-Up Band will be available starting March 18, 2026. This limited-edition band features a colorful design inspired by Mario in his invincible state after obtaining a Super Star.
The Power-Up Band enhances the park experience by allowing guests to participate in Key Challenges and collect coins and digital stamps throughout the area.

New Map Design Merchandise
New merchandise featuring the area map design will also launch, including a face towel with a Super Star patch. These items capture the world of Super Nintendo World and serve as memorable souvenirs from the visit.

Super Star-Themed Limited Food Items
Anniversary Super Star Popcorn Bucket
The Super Star popcorn bucket will receive a special upgrade for the 5th anniversary. This limited one-year-only version lights up in multiple colors and plays the familiar background music heard when obtaining a Super Star in the games, creating an invincible feeling for guests.

Super Nintendo World Anniversary Cake
At the entrance to Super Nintendo World, the Super Star Plaza will feature a special cake monument decorated with Super Stars to welcome guests. This monument has been recreated as an actual edible cake available at Kinopio Cafe.
The colorful anniversary cake is adorned with stars and offers a special size and taste, perfect for celebrating the 5th anniversary together.
Super Star Anniversary Plate
After exploring Super Nintendo World, guests can recharge at Kinopio Cafe with the Super Star Anniversary Plate featuring mushroom lasagna and fried chicken. The dish is presented as a stage where Mario embarks on an adventure, complete with a fluffy Super Star-shaped bread as the centerpiece.

Super Star Items Beyond Super Nintendo World
Mario Cafe & Store Offerings
The celebration extends to Mario Cafe & Store in the Hollywood Area, where Super Star-themed items will also be available.
The Invincible! Super Star Pancake Sandwich - Mango features sparkling, colorful pancakes filled with rich mango and cream, along with crispy star-shaped sugar for added texture. This special sweet recreates the invincible feeling of obtaining a Super Star.
Special drinks will also receive a Super Star power-up with sparkling jelly-filled sodas to help guests recharge.

Limited Sticker Distribution Event
A special sticker distribution event will take place throughout Super Nintendo World. According to the storyline, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, and Yoshi were baking a cake when the Super Star decorations scattered across the area.
Guests can participate by finding Super Stars throughout the area and showing them to crew members, or by bringing items like popcorn buckets or purchased food and merchandise. Those who cannot find a Super Star can work together with others to create one through poses and gestures. Participating guests will receive a special 5th anniversary sticker.
