Hyatt Regency Kyoto Opens Reservations for Its Festive Sweets Collection 2026–2027, With Three Christmas Cakes, Stollen and Galette des Rois

Hyatt Regency Kyoto, in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, will begin taking reservations for its Christmas cakes and other festive sweets on Friday, October 9, 2026.

The "Festive Sweets Collection 2026–2027," created by the hotel's pastry team, features three types of Christmas cake, each finished one by one by the pastry chefs with carefully chosen ingredients. The lineup also includes a stollen to be enjoyed bit by bit while waiting for Christmas, and the "Galette des Rois" (ガレット・デ・ロワ), a traditional French pastry eaten to wish for good luck in the new year.

From Christmas with loved ones to the start of the new year, these hotel-made sweets are meant to add to a memorable festive season. All prices include tax.

Christmas Cakes

Strawberry Christmas Cake (苺のクリスマスケーキ)

Strawberry Christmas Cake

Approx. 15 cm in diameter, ¥5,800 (delivery not available).

A strawberry shortcake with a colorful topping of strawberries. Sponge cake baked soft with fresh eggs is decorated with a Chantilly cream that the pastry chef blends in an original way, then topped with carefully selected strawberries.

Because it is a simple combination of strawberries, sponge cake and cream, the flavor of the ingredients and the pastry chef's skill stand out.

Raspberry Chocolate Cake (ラズベリーチョコレートケーキ)

Raspberry Chocolate Cake

Approx. 15 cm in diameter, ¥5,800 (delivery not available).

A rich, smooth mousse made with French chocolate is combined with raspberry cream and jam. The sweet-tart raspberry layers over the deep richness of the chocolate, and a crunchy chocolate cookie layer adds a pleasant accent to the mousse's smooth melt-in-the-mouth texture.

Blanc de Noël (ブラン・ド・ノエル)

Blanc de Noël

Approx. 17 cm long, ¥5,800 (delivery not available).

A fromage blanc mousse with the flavor of yuzu is layered with yuzu and mango cream and strawberry gelée. The refreshing taste balances the fresh scent of yuzu with the fruitiness of mango and strawberry.

Each bite brings the light texture of the mousse along with the flavors of the individual ingredients. Two colors of white chocolate and strawberries on top add an accent.

Stollen

Stollen

Approx. 20 cm × 7.5 cm, ¥3,000 (delivery available, shipping fee extra).

A traditional German confection that is a Christmas staple. Dried fruit soaked in rum and roasted walnuts are kneaded into the dough, which is then soaked with plenty of domestic butter. The stollen takes time and care to make, and the longer it sits, the moister it matures and the deeper its flavor becomes. The rich aroma of fruit and spices pairs well with coffee and tea, and also with wine. It is meant to be sliced and eaten little by little while looking forward to Christmas, and it is also recommended as a holiday gift.

The shipping fee varies depending on the delivery area. Please contact the Pastry Boutique for details.

Galette des Rois (ガレット・デ・ロワ)

Galette des Rois

Approx. 19 cm in diameter, ¥2,700 (delivery not available).

In France, the "Galette des Rois" is a traditional New Year pastry eaten on the Christian feast of Epiphany. It is made generously with fermented butter and smooth almond cream, and baked fragrant, crisp on the outside and moist inside.

According to an old tradition, whoever finds a small ceramic figure called a "fève" when the galette is cut will have good luck that year. Following the custom, a cute French-made fève and a crown are included separately. Please enjoy the French sense of fun as well.

The fève is not edible, so please take care not to swallow it by accident.
