A Christmas Afternoon Tea is being served at TEA LOUNGE MAYFAIR on the 2nd floor of The Westin Miyako Kyoto from December 1 (Tuesday) to December 25 (Friday), 2026. Christmas motifs such as a Santa Claus hat, a Christmas wreath, a present box, and a bûche de Noël are expressed as sweets. In total, 14 items with different textures and flavors are served on a three-tier stand and a separate parfait plate, in a hotel decorated for the holiday season.
From December 19 (Saturday) to December 25 (Friday), a plan that includes a glass of champagne is also available.
Each tier offers a different look. From sweets and savories to the parfait, the motifs, textures, and temperatures vary, balancing playful presentation with the flavor of the ingredients.
Top Tier: Light Sweets Styled as Santa Hats and Wreaths

When the afternoon tea stand arrives at the table, the top tier holds five playful items, including Santa Claus hats and Christmas wreaths. Each has a different texture, from crisp meringue and moist dacquoise to smooth jelly and panna cotta.
- Berry Pavlova: Crisp meringue coated in white chocolate, decorated with cheese cream and berries. The sweet-tart berries, the richness of the cheese, and the texture of the meringue come together in harmony.
- Santa Hat Mousse: Strawberry mousse with raspberry jelly hidden inside, styled as a Santa Claus hat. Marshmallow and coconut powder decorate the brim.
- Christmas Wreath Glass Dessert: Two layers of champagne jelly and panna cotta with a faint hint of lime, with a wreath drawn in pistachio cream.
- Dacquoise Sandwich: Dacquoise filled with raspberry cream and decorated with strawberries. The dacquoise has a moist texture.
- French Chestnut Éclair: An éclair coated in chocolate with crushed almonds, made with fragrant French chestnuts. Chestnut cream is layered both inside the dough and on top for a full-bodied taste.
Middle Tier: Present Box and Bûche de Noël

The middle tier holds a shortcake styled as a present box and a bûche de Noël with mushroom and axe motifs. Alongside the playful looks, the flavors contrast, from light cream and pistachio sponge to rich chocolate. The warm scones are served with clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam.
- Shortcake: Pistachio sponge filled with light cream and sweet-tart strawberries. A ribbon-shaped cream on top makes it look like a present box.
- Bûche de Noël: Made with 66% cacao chocolate, with a rich chocolate flavor that balances sweetness and a slight bitterness. A soft sponge is decorated with mushroom and axe motifs for a Christmas look. Banana purée is added to the chocolate cream as a hidden flavor.
- Scones (Plain / Chocolate): Two kinds, plain and chocolate, served with clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam.
Bottom Tier: Savories Hearty Enough for a Meal

The savories are four items: quiche, a roast beef sandwich, a salad, and soup. From the lightly sweet quiche to the hearty sandwich and a warm onion soup suited to a winter afternoon, the lineup is filling enough to work as a meal. A baguette served separately adds an accent to the soup.
- Chicken and Dried Fruit Quiche: A lightly sweet quiche with dried raisins and dried cranberries.
- Roast Beef Sandwich: A hearty sandwich filled with the hotel's signature roast beef.
- Strawberry and Green Leaf Salad: Balanced with cheese, pistachios, and a balsamic dressing.
- Onion Soup: A warm soup with a gentle flavor. It is served with a baguette on the side.
Separate Plate: A Parfait That Shows Strawberries Three Ways

- Strawberry Parfait: Strawberries are layered as they are with ice cream and jelly, so the taste and aroma of the strawberry can be enjoyed in three different forms. Crunch and meringue add variety to the texture, keeping it interesting to the last bite.
Special Drink

The special drink exclusive to the Christmas Afternoon Tea is "Noël Rouge." It combines strawberry syrup with ginger ale and adds the tartness of lemon. The rim of the glass is dressed with sugar to resemble snow in a snow style, and a small star is added.
Champagne Plan (December 19 to 25 Only)
During the roughly one week leading up to Christmas, a plan that includes a glass of champagne is also sold, for an even more luxurious holiday season.
