From Wednesday, November 11, JR Nagoya Takashimaya, Takashimaya Gate Tower Mall (TGM), and the tree at Gate Tower switch to Christmas mode. Nagoya Station Is Dressed in Christmas on November 11
This year, the Christmas decorations at the department store and TGM begin on the same day as the lighting of the Gate Tower Christmas tree (planned and operated by JR Central Building Co., Ltd.). The festive excitement and glamorous mood are meant to fill the area around Nagoya Station and bring liveliness to the whole district.
Department Store: The "Symbol Tree of the Forest Where Tomte Live" Surrounded by Works by Sculptor Mio Hashimoto
The symbol tree stands in a forest where the Tomte live, and works by sculptor Mio Hashimoto (はしもとみお) appear around it. The Tomte is a small fairy in a red hat, a figure passed down in Nordic folklore since long ago. The display is at the 1F front stage of JR Nagoya Takashimaya.
TGM: The Theme Is "Christmas Where My Likes Connect" (私と好きがつながるクリスマス)
The decorations visualize invisible red ribbons that connect people with other people, people with gifts, and people with the worlds they love.
The decorations are displayed at the TGM 2F front entrance.

This year's theme is "Mofumofu Jolly Christmas" (モフモフジョリークリスマス). The lighting ceremony takes place on Wednesday, November 11, from 5:00 PM.
