New York restaurant Sarabeth's is offering two limited-time early summer specials at its six Japan locations — Shinagawa, Lumine Shinjuku, Tokyo, Omotesando, BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai, and Nagoya — from June 1 (Monday) through June 30 (Tuesday), 2026. The two seasonal additions are the Churro French Toast and the Reuben Sandwich.
Note: The Churro French Toast will not be available at the Lumine Shinjuku location.
The Churro French Toast draws inspiration from churros, the traditional Spanish fried confection made by piping dough through a star-shaped tip, frying it, and coating it in honey, sugar, and cinnamon — a staple of the Spanish breakfast table. The dish features fluffy egg-and-butter-scented bread soaked in a light custard (appareil) and cooked in generous butter, then finished with a coating of cinnamon sugar. On its own it is already delicious, but pairing it with the accompanying grapefruit and lemon curd adds a bright, refreshing citrus note. A squeeze of lemon brings out an even lighter flavor, making it a particularly satisfying choice on hot days.

The Reuben Sandwich is a classic American hot sandwich named after the owner of the restaurant where it was first created. Loaded with corned beef, sauerkraut, and melted cheese and toasted until golden, it delivers a hearty, indulgent sandwich experience.

A recommended drink pairing for both dishes is the Arnold Palmer — a blend of iced tea from New York premium tea brand Harney & Sons with a touch of sweet-and-tangy lemonade. The clean astringency of the black tea and the bright citrus of the lemon come together in a well-balanced, cooling combination.
