Kamakura Chokin Kobo (鎌倉彫金工房), a workshop where couples can handcraft wedding and engagement rings, has teamed up with enso hanare, a restaurant in Sasuke, Kamakura, to offer a limited-time plan that combines ring making and dinner in a single day.
The plan is open to guests who make their rings at the Kamakura Chokin Kobo Main Store under one of the Handmade Wedding & Engagement Ring Course (3 rings), the Handmade Wedding Ring Course, the Handmade Engagement Ring Course, or the Handmade Anniversary Course. It is available only on Mondays and Tuesdays, from Monday, January 11 to Tuesday, March 30, 2027.
Continuing the Day After Making Your Rings in Kamakura
At Kamakura Chokin Kobo, guests shape rings from metal with their own hands. Choosing the materials and design and finishing the ring by hand are part of the memories that stay with it.
After ring making, guests can walk through Kamakura to enso hanare in Sasuke. The restaurant proposes "Jodo Ryori" (醸土料理), a style of cooking that draws on local ingredients and the handcraft of fermentation and preservation, and it will prepare a dinner course for this plan. The day takes in two places, each devoted to its own materials, metal at the workshop and ingredients at the restaurant.
Highlights of the Plan
A full day from ring making to dinner
After making the rings, guests can stroll leisurely through the old capital of Kamakura while savoring the afterglow. In the evening, they can enjoy a special dinner at enso hanare, which sits in a calm neighborhood, while looking back on the day.
A dinner course prepared just for this plan
enso hanare usually serves à la carte. Using seasonal local ingredients along with house-made fermented foods and preserved foods, the restaurant offers dishes in harmony with the body and the local land. For this plan, it prepares a special dinner course to round off the couple's day.
A quiet weekday in Kamakura
