Global makeup brand KATE is bringing back KATE PRESENTS "The Witch of 18th Street: The Mansion of Playing with Emotions," the co-created attraction with Universal Studios Japan that drew a strong response from guests last year. The attraction returns for a limited time from Friday, September 11 through Sunday, November 8, 2026, as part of Universal Studios Japan's Halloween Horror Nights 15th anniversary celebration.

A Shared Vision Brings the Co-Created Attraction Back by Popular Demand
Since its founding, KATE has championed the slogan "NO MORE RULES.," encouraging people to break free of convention and enjoy makeup freely, without being bound by existing ideas. Universal Studios Japan, meanwhile, carries the company message "NO LIMIT!," aiming to be a theme park where guests can break out of their shells and become "super energized" through unforgettable experiences of "super emotion and super excitement" delivered through global entertainment.
The two brands share a common desire to free people's emotions and individuality more openly, and that shared belief led to the attraction's creation last year as a global platform for spreading this message.
Having received considerable response and empathy from guests during its first run, the attraction is returning this year so its message can reach even more people.
About KATE PRESENTS "The Witch of 18th Street: The Mansion of Playing with Emotions"
Built around the concept of "the ultimate zone where you can fully free yourself," the attraction offers an experience that answers the desire to freely express one's true self in an era where, despite growing diversity in values and ideas of beauty, people can still feel bound by unspoken rules such as peer pressure and fixed ideas.
Set within a hall of mirrors, the attraction presents visitors with trials centered on the emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure, set by four witches who preside over those feelings. By showing a variety of expressions in response, visitors release the emotions they hold within — a new kind of attraction experience.
What to Expect
A new-sensation "emotion-releasing" attraction has suddenly appeared at Universal Studios Japan during its Halloween season. The stage for KATE PRESENTS "The Witch of 18th Street: The Mansion of Playing with Emotions" is a hall of mirrors inhabited by four witches who preside over the emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure.

Visitors to the hall face "emotion trials" set by the witches, who love expressive faces, based on the four emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure. Those who respond with emotion-filled expressions, as instructed by the witches, are granted an "emotion elixir" that reveals the emotions hidden within them and how to release them.
With the "emotion elixir" in hand, visitors can release their hidden emotions and head out into the Halloween-filled park.
