koe donuts offers a unique dining experience centered around the keywords "organic," "natural ingredients," and "local production for local consumption." The shop serves fresh donuts meant to be enjoyed with knife and fork in their signature "Donut Melt" style, along with approximately 30 regular donut varieties made with six different dough types. Located in Kyoto, a renowned tourist destination, koe donuts also features seasonal limited-edition menu items throughout the year.
This new release marks the debut of sweets featuring koe donuts' beloved original characters, the "Donut Professors," designed by popular artist Yu Nagaba. The butter sandwich cookies feature cookie dough - also used in koe donuts' cookie tins - baked into character motifs and filled with butter cream combined with carefully selected premium ingredients. Each cookie is handcrafted with care, using ingredients that are gentle on both the body and environment, including organic wheat, organic sugar, and free-range eggs from Kyoto whenever possible.
The cookies come in two dough varieties: plain and cocoa-flavored. Enjoy six different flavor combinations featuring fruits and nuts that perfectly complement the cookie dough and butter cream.
The plain cookies include: "Vanilla Rum Raisin" with harmonious notes of vanilla and rum alongside juicy raisins; "Raspberry Cranberry" highlighting berry-filled sweet-and-sour flavors; and "Cream Cheese Lemon" featuring an exquisite balance of lemon's subtle acidity and milky cheese cream.
The cocoa-flavored cookies offer: "Chocolate" for fully indulging in cocoa's rich aroma and taste; "Hazelnut Praline" spreading nutty fragrance and depth; and "Cream Cheese Cassis" with an appealing balance of sweet-and-sour fruity cassis jam and mild cheese cream.
