Umeda Tsutaya Shoten (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) and Ginza Tsutaya Shoten (Chuo City, Tokyo) are holding, in turn, a solo exhibition titled "planto" by illustrator Konatsu Tani starting Saturday, August 1, 2026. Tani has drawn attention for her distinctive coloring and warm touch. The exhibition displays and sells original works inspired by the "bonsai" depicted in ukiyo-e woodblock prints and Japanese paintings, alongside popular art books and goods. New goods and items available only at each store will also be on sale, and each store will hold in-store meet-and-greet events during the exhibition period. Visitors can enjoy the fresh yet somewhat nostalgic world that Tani's illustrations create.

About the Meet-and-Greet Events
During the exhibition period, on the days Konatsu Tani is in the store, customers who purchase artwork, art books, goods, or other items totaling ¥5,500 (tax included) or more will receive a portrait sketched on the spot as a gift.

Artist Profile
Konatsu Tani
Born in Osaka in 1993. In addition to unveiling new works at a solo exhibition held every year, she participates in "art for animals," an activity that donates proceeds from her work sales to animal shelters. She also continues to update "Puje Diary," a picture-diary comic chronicling her daily life with her budgerigar, Micchan.
