2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the Harry Potter film series — a milestone that has been cherished across generations for a quarter century. At Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo, visitors can step into actual film sets, view authentic costumes and props, and enjoy interactive experiences, dining, and shopping. Additionally, starting March 18 (Wednesday), a special 25th anniversary event commemorating the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone — titled "Invitation from Hogwarts" — will be held, offering new experiences that revisit the origins of the story.

The facility opened in June 2023 on the former site of Toshimaen amusement park, making it the world's second and Asia's first Warner Bros. studio tour dedicated to Harry Potter. It has earned a Google Review rating of 4.7 (as of March 1, 2026), a high score among large-scale entertainment facilities in Japan, with visitors frequently describing it as "exceeding expectations."

The Story Behind the Tagline

In the Harry Potter film series, the scene where Harry and his friends board the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9¾ is an iconic moment symbolizing the start of their adventure. Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo envisions itself as a similar place of departure — a starting point from which each visitor steps into a grand story.

The facility is designed to be a place where not only longtime fans but also newcomers to the series and children can enjoy and discover things at their own pace, regardless of how familiar they are with the franchise. The tagline reflects a hope that the "tour" format — distinct from a typical theme park — offers each visitor a "magical journey" that feels personal and stays with them long after they leave.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the Harry Potter film series, a special event titled "Invitation from Hogwarts" opens at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo. Themed around the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the event invites both longtime fans and newcomers to experience the very beginning of Harry's adventure.

During the event period, the Great Hall — illuminated by countless candles — transforms into the stage for the Sorting Ceremony, and various scenes from Harry's early days at Hogwarts unfold one after another, evoking the same sense of wonder and excitement that Harry first experienced. Limited-edition food items are also planned to accompany the event.

Much like the letter that arrived for Harry, this event serves as an "invitation" for everyone — opening the door to the magical world and offering a first step into the world of Harry Potter films.

About Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo opened on June 16, 2023, on the former site of Toshimaen in Tokyo. The tour immerses fans in iconic film sets including the Hogwarts Great Hall, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest, while offering behind-the-scenes insights into the filmmaking process — from encountering magical creatures and viewing elaborate costumes, to riding a broomstick, sipping Butterbeer, becoming a moving portrait in the Hogwarts corridors, or joining the Quidditch crowd.

The facility also features the world's largest Harry Potter shop, divided into 13 themed sections. The shop's interiors are decorated with more than 1,500 specially crafted props, drawing inspiration from Honeydukes, Ollivanders, Flourish and Blotts, and other shops along Diagon Alley, with many exclusive items available only here. Restaurants and cafes serve traditional British fare including fish and chips, roast beef, English breakfast, and afternoon tea.

As the first location in Asia and the world's largest indoor Harry Potter facility, a full visit typically takes around four hours. The tour also features sets exclusive to the Tokyo location, offering experiences unavailable anywhere else.
