Kyoto Century Hotel New Year Buffet Features Omi Beef Sukiyaki and Traditional Osechi

Kyoto Century Hotel (located in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, General Manager: Miwa Sakurai) will present "New Year Buffet in La Jyho" at their All-Day Dining La Jyho restaurant for five days from dinner time on December 31, 2025 (Wednesday) through January 4, 2026 (Sunday).

Special New Year Menu Highlights

This special buffet features traditional osechi dishes (lunch only), including datemaki and saury kelp rolls, alongside Omi beef sukiyaki (dinner only) - one of Japan's three great wagyu varieties. Fresh tuna will be available both as sashimi and sushi, allowing guests to enjoy it in two different styles. The menu also includes La Jyho's signature wagyu roast beef and special ikura (salmon roe), along with winter specialties from the concurrent "Winter Buffet in La Jyho," such as chilled crab flan (dinner only), simmered tilefish with turnip and yuzu-flavored beurre blanc sauce, and yellowtail shabu-shabu (dinner only).

For dessert, guests can enjoy oshiruko (sweet red bean soup), matcha warabi mochi, and over 15 varieties of ice cream. On New Year's Eve dinner, toshikoshi soba (New Year's Eve buckwheat noodles) will also be served.

Celebrate the arrival of 2026 at this historic hotel, opening its 99th year of operation, with a warm and special gathering for New Year's and celebratory occasions.

Omi beef, counted among Japan's three great wagyu varieties, will be served as sukiyaki. Guests can fully enjoy the rich umami of Omi beef.

Ingredients include fresh Chinese cabbage, chrysanthemum greens, and fragrant grilled tofu. "Sukiyaki-fu" from Kyoto's long-established shop Hanbey-fu absorbs the warishita broth infused with Omi beef's umami, creating an exceptional taste. Winter Buffet Concurrent Period

From November 27, 2025 (Thursday) through January 12, 2026 (Monday/Holiday), the hotel will offer "Winter Buffet in La Jyho," featuring winter delicacies. The buffet includes chilled dishes such as pork confit with caponata and pâté de campagne packed with dried fruits, along with a full lineup of hot dishes including classic roast chicken and vongole bianco.
