Hotel Granvia Kyoto Introduces Eho-maki Seven Lucky Gods Featuring Eel! Pre-Orders Now Open

Hotel Granvia Kyoto (Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City; General Manager: Satoru Miura) will begin accepting pre-orders for eho-maki lucky direction sushi rolls starting January 5, 2026, at the Pastry & Bakery Shop "Le Temps" on the second floor.

Eho-maki Seven Lucky Gods by Sushi Chef Otsuki

The eho-maki sold at Pastry & Bakery Shop "Le Temps" is the Eho-maki Seven Lucky Gods, created by sushi chef Otsuki. Otsuki developed this eho-maki with the desire to ensure customers can "enjoy continuous flavors even when biting through the roll," focusing on using long eel. Besides eel, this luxurious single roll includes natural shrimp and kazunoko (herring roe), along with crunchy yamagobo (burdock root), offering seven types of ingredients in this new eho-maki.

The lucky direction for 2026 is "south-southeast." Please enjoy each bite while making a wish.

Japanese cuisine craftsmen have carefully hand-rolled each of Ukihashi's eho-maki. This year's offerings include the "Spiny Lobster Eho-maki" featuring a whole spiny lobster fry, and the "Japanese Beef Fillet Cutlet and Japanese Beef Loin Kurama-ni Eho-maki," which offers two flavor experiences in one roll. Both are carefully wrapped with sushi rice made using Chidori vinegar from Kyoto's long-established Murayama Vinegar Company to enhance the ingredients' flavors.
