Malebranche's specialty "Mont Blanc" was first created in 1982. As one of the desserts at the very origin of Malebranche's confectionery, Mont Blanc has evolved with the times while remaining a long-time favorite among customers. Carrying on that flavor while offering an even deeper, richer taste of chestnut, the new "Rich Mont Blanc" has been born from the specialty the brand has cherished for more than 40 years.

Making Mont Blanc Even Richer
The star of Rich Mont Blanc is a chestnut cream with an even higher proportion of marron paste than the original "Mont Blanc." The cream, packed with the rich flavor of chestnut, is piped on generously so that its deep, concentrated chestnut taste spreads from the very first bite. Hidden inside is a fresh cream with the aroma of butter and a hint of salt. Its mellow richness and gentle saltiness bring out the natural sweetness of the chestnut even more.
Flavorful marron paste and chopped chestnuts are layered in as well, adding a chestnut texture within the smooth cream.
The deliciousness of chestnut is layered again and again.
With every bite, the chestnut's aroma and richness build on one another for an unprecedented depth of flavor.
The Classic Specialty: "Mont Blanc"

Mont Blanc: ¥648 (¥600 before tax)
Since its founding in 1982, Malebranche's "Mont Blanc" has been carefully preserved for 42 years.
At the time, Mont Blancs made with sweetened yellow Japanese chestnuts were the norm in Japan. Against that backdrop, Malebranche's founder encountered, in Paris — the home of Western confectionery — a Mont Blanc with a chestnut-colored, rich flavor. That encounter became the starting point for Malebranche's Mont Blanc making. Since its founding, the brand has continued to use marron paste from France's Sabaton and fragrant Negrita rum. The base of the Mont Blanc cream is shaped by hand, one at a time, in the same painstaking way as a piece of Japanese wagashi.
While protecting what must never change, it has evolved little by little with the times, becoming even more delicious.
Today's Mont Blanc is the sixth generation. Carried forward by the spirit of "fueki-ryuko" — valuing what endures alongside what changes — the Mont Blanc remains, more than 40 years later, the starting point of Malebranche's confectionery.

The rich chestnut flavor and the fragrant aroma of Negrita rum fill the mouth. It also offers the portability and shelf life that a fresh cake cannot, making it a good choice for a souvenir when traveling far or as a gift for someone special.
