From Friday, July 24 through Sunday, August 23, 2026, the Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho area (the Marunouchi area) turns into a summer playground and classroom that kids and adults can enjoy together, with the first "MARUNOUCHI SUMMER FEST." Aiming to become a new seasonal tradition for the neighborhood, the festival rolls out more than 100 varied experience programs across the district.

Each day, the special drink is available to the first 30 "MARUNOUCHI WORKERS" members; one drink can be redeemed per coupon period at either restaurant. Alcohol is served only to guests aged 20 and older.

More Than 100 Ways to Enjoy Marunouchi This Summer

1. Marunouchi Summer Mission

The Marunouchi Point app runs a stamp rally, "Marunouchi Summer Mission," alongside the festival. Scanning QR codes at select events, workshops, and spots around the neighborhood earns stamps. Collecting more stamps increases a visitor's share of a total of 1 million Marunouchi Points, and everyone who reaches 10 stamps is entered into a drawing for a bonus 100,000 points. Details will be posted on the Marunouchi Point app in late July.

2. Marunouchi Summer Workshop

More than 50 Marunouchi-area companies team up for hands-on workshops for kids and adults

More than 50 shops and companies across the Marunouchi area are teaming up on "Marunouchi Summer Workshop," centered on job-experience programs that families and children can join. Some programs welcome same-day, no-reservation visitors during the festival. 3. Marunouchi Street Park 2026 Summer

Held as a social experiment exploring future uses for Marunouchi Naka-dori Avenue, this year's edition takes on the theme "Playful Chill Street – Cooling Day / Neon Night," focusing on staying comfortable through the summer heat with mist, shade, breeze, sound, and scent installations. The space also takes on different looks by day and night, giving people who work in Marunouchi a place to unwind after work and building nighttime energy in the area.

4. Kokyo Gaien National Garden: "Path of Japanese Lanterns"

5. Marunouchi Bon Odori 2026

A festival tower is set up facing Tokyo Station's Marunouchi building. Office workers from nearby buildings join the "Bon Odori Booster Squad" performance team and visitors for bon odori dancing set to taiko drumming and J-pop. The venue also offers a hands-on "uchimizu" (water-sprinkling) booth, a heat-mitigation practice promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, along with parasol rentals.

6. Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum: "Artists Who Gathered at the Café — From the Impressionists to Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Picasso"

Costume event — "For Experts and First-Timers Alike: Let's Meet in Marunouchi, Dressed for 19th-Century Paris"

A one-day costume event inspired by the real Café des Incohérents, known in 19th-century Paris for its costume gatherings. This year's theme is "19th-century Paris" — visitors are invited to dress as they like and immerse themselves in the world of the exhibition.

Gramophone and 78-rpm record mini concert

As part of the "THE WAY OF→" pilot project, the Tokyo University of the Arts Library shares gramophones and 78-rpm records from its collection in a concert held during the August evening hours.

7. Otemachi-Marunouchi-Yurakucho Eco Kids Expedition 2026

Food stalls and takeout menus from nearby restaurants join classic festival games with an elevated, traditional touch, produced with cooperation from Hoshinoya Tokyo — including flower-scooping and treasure-fishing games — plus a tent booth serving special dishes prepared by the head chef of "Sushi Otemon." New this year is a stage segment where people who work in the Marunouchi area take part in a singing contest.

17. TOKYO AfterDark in Marunouchi

The Marunouchi area rolls out an evening-focused lineup, including night tours around the Imperial Palace and other Marunouchi sights, plus a special hopping pass offering discounts at area restaurants and bars. On Mondays in July, in partnership with marunouchi HOUSE, a special DJ booth and photo booth are set up so visitors can enjoy nighttime in the neighborhood.
This program is supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau's nighttime tourism promotion grant.

18. BEER TERRACE in (marunouchi)HOUSE 2026

The rooftop beer terrace on the seventh floor of Shin-Marunouchi Building returns for another year at marunouchi HOUSE. Guests can enjoy chilled beer, cocktails, and each restaurant's signature dishes on an open-air terrace with a breeze and open city views, along with music setting the mood for a relaxed evening.
